Search and Rescue Boat on Willow River
Prince George, B.C. – RCMP in Prince George are now confirming what Opinion 250 had learned earlier this evening.
A jet boat has capsized on Willow River, and while two who were on board made it to safety and are fine, two women are missing. Police have not released any details on the identities of the missing or the rescued.
The RCMP plane was searching the length of the river , and a helicopter brought in by Prince George Search and Rescue was also looking for the two missing people.
Search and Rescue sent a swift water team to the scene, and that team was continuing to look for the two missing boaters well into this evening.
Area residents say the Willow River is very high and running very fast at this time.

Very sad. Hopefully the two missing will be found safe. It is a very dangerous time for anybody to be on moving water. Please think of the other lives that will be on the line if something happens to you.
Give more, jetboats are designed to operate in moving water. As with your automobile, nothing is 100% safe.
Very Sad indeed. Yes, Dragon master jet boats are designed to travel on water but by no means are they safe to take out in the swift moving rivers of spring, the danger level increases significantly. My admiration goes out to the rescue workers that deal with putting their life on the line for irresponsible people.
I am in shock, devastated and praying that they will be found alive. My love, hope and prayers go out to the families. Thanks to PG Search & Rescue for all their efforts. Lets all keep praying. xoxo
Actually lin ear I’m a jetboater and they are very safe to take out in the swift moving rivers of spring. Jetboaters rub their hands together waiting for the spring freshet that enables us to get into these rivers. So sad for you needing to call these people irresponsible. Irresponsible is the last thing they are. Do you think you’re any safer in your car or walking down the street? You better think again.
