Friday, May 11, 2012 @ 3:56 AM
Prince George, B.C.- While CNC graduates will be donning cap and gown for their graduation ceremony at CN Centre tomorrow, another group will hold its graduation ceremony   at CN Centre on Sunday.

30 soldiers, representing the first group  of the Rocky Mountain  Rangers, will celebrate their graduation from basic training on Sunday morning.

These British Columbia soldiers have been training on weekends and weeknights in between their civilian jobs or school for the last five months, and are excited to share their accomplishments with their local community and families.

The troop will be on parade Sunday morning at the CN Centre at 10:30, a reception will follow at the Meadows Armouries on Dornbierer  Crescent.

This historic parade is also a celebration of The Rocky Mountain Rangers’ successful return to Prince George after a 47 year absence, and will be reviewed by the Commander, Land Force Western Area, Brigadier General Paul Wynnyk – the leader of all Canadian Army troops in Western Canada, from Thunder Bay to Victoria. Other distinguished military guests will include the commander and deputy commander of 39 Canadian Brigade Group, British Columbia’s Army Reserve.

I would like to welcome the military to Prince Gerorge.

I read that Brigadier General Paul Wynnyk is a professional engineer registered in Alberta.

I gather he knows how to blow roads up and leave potholes behind for the enemy. I suspect he also knows how to fix potholes.

Maybe he can give us some advice of how to fix ours.

Oh, and then I also read that the Joint Task Force West is trained to help with floods in Manitoba.

There’s our dike alternative solution.

I know first hand how much hard work and dedication this group of soldiers have put into their basic training and I am so proud of them all! Congratulations and welcome back to Prince George!

Gus, yer crack’in me up again! Good ideas though. Glad to see these reserves getting well deserved recognition, SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!

I do believe that everyone and their dog that support our troops should attend this graduation tomorrow.
