Grassfires Along Old Cariboo Highway

Prince George, B.C.- Volunteer firefighters are on the scene of two grass fires burning on the east side of the old Cariboo highway.
Firefighters are on scene, and while we have confirmed a team from the Prince George Airport Fire Services is on scene, we are not certain if the others are the volunteers from the Pineview Volunteer Fire Hall, or if Prince George Fire and Rescue is on scene.
The first fire is just south of the Ritchie Brothers Auction site, the other, further south in an open field.
The wind has whipped up the flames and caused a rapid spread of the fire.
