Prince George, B.C. – The Prince George Public Library has received a marketing award for its television commercials.

On Saturday Chief Librarian Allan Wilson accepted an Advocacy/Marketing award on behalf of the library. The award was presented by the B.C. Library Association at its annual provincial conference. The commercials portrayed a “tough guy” getting a tattoo which read “Born To Read.” The commercials were meant to display the diversity of library users and re-frame perceptions of the local community in a positive way

“The commercials were a great hit around the city” says Allan Wilson, “and we’re thrilled with the recognition.”

What about the rest of the world out there thinking that the people of Crater City here are not sensitive to everyone’s feelings?
