Lakeland Fire Assistance Fund Growing

Prince George, B.C.- The generosity of people and businesses in Prince George continues to flow to the Lakeland Mill fire Assistance fund.
The Prince George Community Foundation, which is administering the funds, says the fund has grown to $155,000.00
There have been a variety of fundraisers set up through the community and many retailers and businesses have also pledged a portion of their sales, or a match on employee contributions.
This week, donations were received from a variety of caring individuals along with:
· The Foothills PAC raised funds through a fun night at the school.
· Kelly Road Senior Secondary brought in proceeds from a Pancake Breakfast held at the school.
· International Quest Engineering matched employee donations
· Prince George Minor Lacrosse
There are a number of fundraisers underway, including the sale of wristbands for $2 each, a bottle drive, a benefit dance set for June 9th, a fundraising event at the Westwood Pub for Thursday night of this week, and tomorrow, the Culinary Arts Students at CNC are hosting a Bar-B-Q and silent auction from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the main campus in Prince George.
