Prince George, B.C. – The all-out effort to use any means available to find Madison Scott of Vanderhoof travels down another path today as her family and friends hold a Poker Ride marking the one year anniversary of Maddy’s disappearance.
The 20-year-old woman disappeared from a party at Hogsback Lake, 25 kilometres south of Vanderhoof, on Saturday, May 28th, 2011. She was last seen at about 3 in the morning. Her tent and truck were located by police, but there has been no sign of Madison Scott, despite an enormous search effort on the part of family, friends, the RCMP and Search and Rescue.
Marking the anniversary her family has organized the Poker Ride to cover the network of trails radiating from the Hogsback Lake campsite. The hope is fresh eyes and extensive coverage of the trails will produce a clue about the disappearance. North District RCMP media relations officer Cst. Lesley Smith says members of the Major Crime section will be on hand in the event anything significant is found in order to protect the integrity of any such evidence.
The Poker Ride, starting at Mapes Hall, is set up in three categories: those walking ( which starts at noon) horseback starts at 10am and the quad ride begins at 11am.
