Lakeland Planer to Resume Work Today

Prince George, B.C.- Today, for the first time since the horrific explosion and fire at the Lakeland Sawmill, 22 workers will be returning to the site to work in the planer mill., but it is highly unlikely any one of the 22 will feel like it's "business as usual".
Sinclar Group President, Greg Stewart, announced the decision late Friday, saying the operation of the planer mill will help clear the backlog of inventory.
The running of the planer mill will be short term employment, perhaps as long as 6 weeks on a one shift per day basis.
The WorkSafe BC investigation into the double fatal fire of April 23rd , has yet to be concluded. Two employees are still in hospital.
There has been no decision on the possibility of rebuilding the sawmill, however, Stewart has stated from the onset, that there are some positive factors in Lakeland’s favour including a fibre supply and a loyal well trained workforce.

You have to clear the yard of all the logs before you announce your not going to rebuild. :-(
Agreed, Jim.
I think if they had plans to rebuild, they would have announced it by now.
