Terrace, B.C. – Terrace Search and Rescue and RCMP have been called out to a helicopter crash.
Terrace RCMP say the aircraft went down approximately 15 km west of the city on the back side of Sleeping Beauty Mountain. The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre says a satellite beacon on the chopper was activated at approximately 10:45.
There were three people on board the helicopter when it went down, but their status isn’t known at this time. The chopper is said to be an ASTAR single engine chopper, registered to Bailey Helicopters out of Fort St. John and was on a training run when it went down.
Local emergency crews, an avalanche tech and SAR techs along with two aircraft from CFB Comox have been dispatched to the scene.
