Prescription Drug Abuse on the Rise in Prince Rupert

Thursday, June 7, 2012 @ 3:54 AM
Prince Rupert, B.C. – RCMP on the North Coast say they’re seeing a jump in the number of people abusing prescription medication. Prince Rupert Mounties say that’s causing a demand for the pills and a bump in drug trafficking.
RCMP seized a range of drugs during a recent raid at a Prince Rupert apartment building last Friday, including cocaine, morphine, Ativan, Tylenol 3, and oxycodone. Investigators also came up with a number of unidentified medications that are currently being analyzed.
Prince Rupert RCMP are reminding the public that it’s illegal to possess prescription drugs without a doctor’s prescription and there are criminal consequences for selling or giving the drugs to others.
A man was arrested at the apartment. 43 year old Richard Trodd is charged with possession of cocaine.
RCMP are asking for the public’s help in clamping down on the drug trade.

Prescription Drugs have robbed far too many people of their dignity and lives. Big Pharma is the REAL drug cartel in North America. Their overmedicating of the American public through obscene advertising leads to nearly 100,000 deaths per year! Prescription drugs are more dangerous than any felony drug substance in the world including heroin, cocaine and even alcohol combined.
