Prince George, B.C. – The Regional District of Fraser-Fort George remains at Level 1 activation in its Emergency Operations Centre.
Evacuation alert remains in effect for 6 homes in the Foreman Flats area. Sandbags have been delivered to these residents. River levels appear to be decreasing. Staff will continue to monitor the situation throughout the weekend.
Residents in threatened areas are advised to contact the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George at 1-800-667-1959 in the event that their home is threatened by flooding, or after hours at 250-960-4475.
The public is reminded to exercise extreme caution near rivers and streams. High water-flows can cause bank erosion and instability, and currents in the river can be volatile and unpredictable. Please avoid all streams and water bodies with rising levels.
The general public is requested to refrain from visiting the affected areas.
