Two In Hospital Following Crash On Highway 16 West

Prince George- A single lane of traffic has been opened along highway 16 west, about 40 kilometres west of the city near Isle Pierre Road, after a two vehicle collision involving a 65 year old Fraser Lake man and an east bound car driven by a 18 year old Alberta woman.
The head on collision resulted in both drivers undergoing surgery for their injuries. Both remain in University of Northern British Columbia hospital in serious condition. The accident which took place at 2.45pm. closed the road for several hours.
Police are continuing to investigate the crash, and the cause is not known at this time.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call police.

Why are there so many accidents around the Isle Pierre road? It seems rather open, straight and flat.
