Nothin’ Beats The Classics

The crowd down at Fort George Park today, taking in the Show N’ Shine

Prince George, BC –  Nothin’ beats the classics, not even the threat of bad weather…

While the ‘shine’ may have been fleeting, the clouds and odd drop of rain did not keep people at home as they came out by the hundreds to Fort George Park today to the take in the Father’s Day Show N’ Shine.

Today marked the 38th annual event for Prince George’s Cruisin’ Classics auto club…and there was definitely something for everyone.

It was a walk down memory lane.  A 1927 Ford Model T caught the eye of many, not only for its striking paintwork, but also for its flathead engine…

Photo at right shows another unique classic, this time a Chevrolet.

It’s a 1941 Cab Over Engine.

And one that had many scratching their heads…

Not the ‘classic’ paint job, but unique nonetheless!  It’s a 2012 Cummins Diesel Crew Cab that Northland Dodge had on display done up in camo.

As one youngster said, "It’s sick!"  That means good.

It truly appears to be a hunter’s delight.

Does this show and shine havev to happen in our parks? Couldnt this event been featured at the Civoic Center on a paved area. Only only Prince George.
Cheers

I prefer the park to pavement.

The park is a great place for it! Just ask the participants and the spectators. Paved areas suck, at least that is the consensus that I have gathered. Haven’t heard anyone wanting to go back to having it in the downtown core. Great to be able to use our parks to their full capacity. Lots of smiling faces in the park today.

Park is a great location. Whats the problem for one day?

O well Retired guy. Stay at home. Even wih the rain it was still a great show. CHEERS.

The Park by far the best place. I see enough hard asphalt and concrete.

lmao … Only in prince george …. hahahaha …. if it were moved outta the park onto paved area … then it truely be … Only in PG

a park is a show peice in itself it does not need a bunch of old cluncers to show it off, But tnen withj all the weeds for green area it probably dosenr matter what you run over those with.

Hard asphalt is where this show should taken place. But then there are many in PG that don’t know what a park is for. When dogs run free and crap all over the area. Like I said what does it matter.

There are even some that park thier cars on thier front lawn. Only in PG.
Cheers

A walk through a park while looking at some great cars…..yes that is a real problem, what a horrible thing. I think they should take the stage away too.(It encourages noise)
