Man Charged in Quesnel Stabbing

Quesnel, B.C.- A 30 year old male remains in custody after a stabbing on Sunday night in Quesnel.
 
At about 9:30 Sunday night, Quesnel RCMP responded to a report of an Assault with a Weapon at  the 7-11 convenience store located on Marsh Drive in Quesnel. 
 
Witnesses called 911 to report an altercation between two males and advised that one of the men was armed with a knife. 
 
According to police,   their investigation indicates a 30 year old male suspect had pulled the knife and stabbed a 31 year old male after the male refused to provide him with a cigarette.  The victim suffered a non life threatening stab wound to his arm.
 
Quesnel RCMP responded and had the 30 year old suspect in custody in less than five minutes of receiving the call.  The male faces charges of Assault with a Weapon, Robbery and two counts of Failing to Comply with Recognizance conditions.

Should be classified as attempted murder, because he used a weapon dangerous to the public peace!!!

A good lawyer can get attempted murder charges doctored down to a mischief charge. Happened in 100 Mile House a few years back.
