Evacuation Alert Expanded in Shelley
Prince George, B.C.- The Regional District of Fraser Fort George has expanded the evacuation alert for the township of Shelley.
A further 16 homes in the Shelley Townsite have been added to the evacuation alert, bringing the total to 26.
An evacuation alert remains in effect for Foreman Flats, with 22 homes included in that alert.
River levels continue to rise, but the rate of rise is starting to lessen. The River Forecast Centre has said the Fraser River is expected to peak at South Fort George sometime later today, but that high river levels will persist for the next few days.
Earlier today, Regional District staff responded to calls about Fraser River levels at the end of Salmon Valley Road. No evacuation alerts or orders have been issued for that area.
