Fraser River Peaks
Environment Canada hydrometic graph shows level of Fraser easing
Prince George, B.C.- The Fraser River seems to have peaked from it’s highrainfall event, with levels sitting at 10.01 meters this morning.
While the river levels are expected to ease somewhat, the warm weather predicted for today and tomorrow, could spur a rapid melt of what remains of the snowpack.
Weather conditions predict another low will move into the region by the weekend, and will be packing more rain, so while the Fraser may have a day or two to ease, there are concerns the levels could rise again before the end of next week.
The evacuation orders in Prince George remain in effect as do the alerts for numerous residences in Prince George, Foreman Flats and the Shelley Townsite.
