Fraser Could Climb Back Over the 10 Metre Mark

Friday, June 22, 2012 @ 2:48 PM
Prince George, B.C. – The  River Forecast Centre says the Fraser River at South Fort George receded to 9.47 meters this morning, below the 9.6 they had predicted.
The river is expected to continue to drop into the weekend but, could come right back up later on in the weekend and into next week in response to rainfall forecast for the weekend. The amount of additional rise will depend on the amount of rain over the weekend.
At this point the five day freshet forecast suggests the Fraser could slip to 9.361 tomorrow ( below the 9.4 flood mark), then climb back up to 9.575 Sunday,  and depending on the amount of rainfall,   possibly hit 9.838 Monday and 10.291 on Tuesday, which is above the mark reached on Wednesday when the Fraser crested.
A high stream flow advisory remains in effect for the Nechako River, and ground water seepage has been noted on the south side of River Road.
All evacuation alerts and orders remain in effect.

Ground water seepage has been noted on the South East Side of River Road. Not much overall, some of Lakelands log yard had water in the South East Portion, however the water in the Nechako has dropped significantly since yesterday.

The North West side of River Road from approx the Boat Launch to Brink Forest Products is dry as a bone. No seepage in that area. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Actually there was seepage on Wednesday morning at Kelliher and Foley. There are a couple of buildings between those streets across from the old salmon hatchery.

They were pumping water north, across River Rd. with the hose emptying water just beyond the crown of the the road.

I could post a video/picture if you wish.

I have video of water in the northeast portion of the log yard. Also got a video of a deer crossing the road. :-)
