100 Days Until Run for the Cure

Prince George, B.C. – The countdown to the annual CIBC Run for the Cure starts today as there are now 100 days until the  run hits the streets of Prince George on September 30th at the P.G. Civic Centre.
 
Toady marks the start of “Paint Canada Pink” week as   organizers try to spread the word about the run and  try to get more people to take part.
 
Locally, run organizers have teamed up with SaveOn Foods “We are going to be at all four Save On Foods locations this weekend encouraging people to sign up or volunteer with the run” says  Prince George Co-Run Director Shari MacLellan.
 
They will cap off the week with a booth at Fort George Park for Canada Day Celebrations.
 
The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure is a 5k or 1k walk or run that raises funds for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. It is the largest single-day, volunteer-led event in Canada in support of the breast cancer cause.
 
Since 2001, when the run first took place in Prince George, the community has raised more than $1.2 million dollars.
