Prince George, BC – Residents across Northern BC will be celebrating Canada’s 145th birthday along with the rest of the country, with everything from parades, to pancake breakfasts, to parties in community parks.
The festivities in Fort George Park in Prince George get underway at 12pm and feature music, entertainment, multicultural events and the tantalizing food fair.
Around the region:
Huble Homestead – 11am celebrate Canada Day the old-fashioned way with pioneer demonstrations, home made ice cream, games and contests
Vanderhoof – 8am pancake breakfast at the Heritage Museum, followed by entertainment, a BBQ lunch, and games for the whole family

At every event across the region, RCMP officers will be on-hand in their red serge. The RCMP’s North District Media Relations Officer, Constable Lesley Smith, says, "RCMP officers are part of communities across Canada – not just policing, but coaching sports teams, organizing fundraisers, leading clubs or programs, and volunteering."
"It’s about being part of a bigger picture and participating in community events, including the celebration of Canada Day," says Smith. "The RCMP is dedicated to its work because we, too, are Canadians who want to live and raise our families in safe communities."

Thanks for the updates.
Is Fort St John the only one that will have fireworks?
I noticed none of the other ones mention them.
Does anyone know if there will be fireworks in PG tonight?
Celebrate what?
The HST aniversary? You people is so stupid. How can you celebrate that anyways? It should be a protest day. Protesting HST and how we are being screwed by this. But no just keep paying it and enjoying it with no protests at all. How about celebrating for the LIE berals? You people seem to be enjoying snooki lie to us about every single subject matter that happens along week by week. Oh yay snooki. I hope it keeps raining really really hard for this useless holiday. I hope soon this so called economy crashes and burns. And you want fireworks? That we the taxpayers have to pay for with HST. I hope this holiday ends with some really stormy weather and you people stay home and do nothing. There is nothing to celebrate IMHO. Shows how corrupt and sickening this snooki goverment is and this harper needs to be removed from office. Just unbelievable. I hope this economy ends SOON. How can you people celebrate such outright sickening corruption and what they are being allowed to do to our country.
Cool story, bro.

Oh the irony…
Yikes….LOL… you would think the meds would be replenished at the start of the month.
mattyc: I will be celebrating Canada Day. The beautiful thing is, you have a right to post that rant. You are Canadian, you are given the right to ask your Government to repeal the HST, and it worked.
I, myself, am happy to live here, and have such a high standard of living. Are things perfect? Nope, but still pretty darn great!
HAPPY CANADA DAY, MATTYC, and all my fellow 0250ers.
Mattyc is obviously one if those under medicated nutballs, that you see wandering around in the downtown area. Mattyc seems to have read an article or 2 about GST when not on the meds.
HAPPY CANADA DAY EVERYONE! even the very cranky (possibly cracky) mattyc.
Yeah! Canada Day! I am celebrating the increased carbon tax.
Nice to see the “honorable” shirley bond cutting in front of dozens of kids so her grandchild ca be facepainted right away.
