Prince George, B.C. – The Air Quality Advisory for Prince George remains in effect as levels of PM 2.5 continue to hover around the acceptable limit mark.
“I am hoping to be able to lift the advisory later today when the inversion breaks” says Dennis Fidge, Air Pollution Meteorologist with the Ministry of Environment.
The advisory means the “free fare for clean air” free rides on P.G. Transit will continue at least until midnight tonight.
There is better news for the folks in Fort St. John as the air quality advisory there has been lifted.
Both communities were being impacted by smoke from wildfires in north western Alberta.

Haven’t been to FSJ for more than 35 years. Do they have “no idle zones” too?
