Fatal Motorcycle Crash Near Chetwynd

Chetwynd, B.C.-  A 73 year old man has died in a motorcycle crash northeast of Chetwynd.
 
The crash occurred yesterday afternoon near Sundance Lake, north-East of Chetwynd.
Shortly after 4 p.m. Chetwynd RCMP responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on highway 97 19.5 kilometers North-East of Chetwynd.
 
Early indications are that a lone rider of 2003 Honda Goldwing lost control navigating an S-curve. The rider, a 73 year old male, was pronounced dead at the scene.
No further details will be provided at this time including the identity of the deceased pending notification of next of kin.

That’s a bad curve at the best of times, even on 4 wheels. Gotta pay attention to the yellow speed signs on that one.

I’ve seen a lot of old guys in their late 70’s riding big bikes the last little while…. its always a marvel that they still get out there like that. I hope I can do the same at that age.

With the long weekend we are sure to see a lot of people traveling on bikes . Please remember if you are unfamiliar with the roads you are on slow down and stay alert . If you are familiar with the roads don’t get cocky and over confident. There is too many factors that one cannot account for or predict . Everyone have a safe long weekend . Ride safe , drive safe and get home safe .
