Playoff Scenario Nearly Clear
Prince George, B.C.- Darren Kolk tossed a no hitter to lead the Nanaimo Coalminers to an 8 – 0 victory over the Langley Blaze at the Bid Group BC Mens Baseball Championship in Prince George.
Kolk walked three while striking out six to register the first no-no of the 8 team provincial tournament. Right fielder Bill Hadden made an outstanding over the shoulder catch for the final out of the game. T
he win clinched a playoff berth for the Coalminers while the Blaze suffered their first loss of the tournament.
However Langley had already clinched a playoff berth.
The final game of the round robin features Trail and Kelowna. A Trail victory will clinch a playoff berth for the Orioles. Kelowna has been eliminated.
Playoff matchups won’t be determined until after the game, however playoff games are scheduled for 6:00 and 8:30 this evening.
