P.G Facing Langley
Prince George, B.C.- Jim Maniago went three for four, scored a run and drove in the winning run as Trail clinched the final playoff spot with a 10 – 9 win over the Kelowna Jays at the Bid Group BC Mens Baseball Championships in Prince George. Kellen Jones shut down the Jays offence, tossing three innings of no-hit ball to pick up the win, his second of the tournament. The complicated playoff seeding system hinged on the final at bat of the game. Trail and Prince George were tied with the first tiebreaker of average runs against per inning. However Prince George won the position of fourth playoff seed because they had a better offensive average in the tournament. As a result, Trail is forced to play Kamloops in the first playoff game of the night. At it’s conclusion, the Prince George Bid Group Grays will face Langley. Tomorrow’s semi final will begin at 9:45 and the final will be played at 12:45.
