Tractor Parade Winds Down the PGX

The ex got a glorious send-off this morning as the owners of all types of tractors gathered in the Pine Centre parking lot. There was a wide assortment of tractors on hand, including this small but powerful machine (pictured at right) that is all hopped up and ready for the drag strip. It was one of several smaller rigs that showed up for the tractor parade to the exhibition grounds.

Not to be outdone, there were some big boys on hand including (pictured to left) this mammoth Ford tractor that had the onlookers looking on with appreciation. Right beside it was a Massey Ferguson tractor of equal proportions.
As stated there were tractors off all sorts, including one pink rig, one decked out in flowers and carrots (freshly picked this morning, we’re told), and a whole host of John Deere and New Holland tractors.
Of course the show wouldn’t be complete without some of the old guys on hand. The tractor in the
foreground (photo to the right) is from the 1936 model year while the one behind is circa 1954.

After swappin’ stories for about 90 minutes the owners jumped aboard and the tractor parade made its way from Pine Centre, up Massey to Ospika, and on to the grounds of the final Prince George Exhibition.

I watched ‘Smokie and the Bandit’ the other night and really enjoyed the tractor race around the Daytona raceway track at the start of the movie… if they had that at PAGARA it would be a hoot I thought….
