A fir tree in our backyard was hit by lightening late this afternoon in the College Heights area. There is a large 15 foot scar down the backside of the tree where the bark has been blown away. Talked to our backyard neighbor … she said her electrical outlets were sparking. The crash of thunder was so loud it sounded like a bomb went off. Just glad no one was hurt.
Do you have any pictures ? Please send them to Elaine to post hopefully.
I was sitting in the lounge of the Coast Hotel and noted the lights flickering at around this time. Can this be one and the same occurance?
