Council Agenda a Light One
Monday, August 27, 2012 @ 3:57 AM
Prince George, B.C.- Tonight’s Council meeting is slated to start at 7:00, one hour later than the new set start time, because of a lack of business.
In the past couple of meetings, Council has been able to whip through the items on the agenda in near record time, resulting in a long recess before they can begin the public hearings which are slated to start at 7:00 p.m. Rather than have that long recess, last week Council voted to start tonight’s meeting an hour later in order to avoid that “downtime”.
There is just one public hearing on the agenda, as Original Joe’s restaurant is applying for support to an extension of it’s operating hours. Right now, the restaurant on Domano Boulevard in College Heights is open until midnight, but would like to extend that to 1:00 a.m.
Also on the agenda , a quarterly report from the Canada Winter Games Society. The report shows the progress being made in preparation for the 2015 Games.
