Prince George, BC – Disappointment tonight for PG Axeman pitcher, Mitch Hodge, who was charged with his first loss of the season, as Prince George fell 3-2 to Alberta’s Fort Saskatchewan A’s at the 2012 Canadian Senior Men’s Baseball Championship at Citizen Field.
Hodge allowed just three runs, while striking out 10 in the game. The Axeman were up 2-0 at the end of the second inning, before the A’s got two in the third and Mitch Grossel drove in the winning run in the 6th to put Alberta at the top of Pool A with a 2-and-0 record.
Prince George and Ontario (1) both have one win and one loss, while Nova Scotia has yet to win a game. New Brunswick leads Pool B at 2-and-0, Manitoba and BC both sit at 1-and-1, with Ontario (2) at 0-and-2.
The Axemen play Nova Scotia at 12pm at Rotary Field tomorrow to wrap up their round robin action. Quarter-finals start at 4pm. The gold medal game goes at 7pm on Sunday evening.

More like an error by PG allowed the third Athletics run, but I think the boys played well. They made some real nice plays, and did not have many errors.
