Prince George, BC – Members of Prince George Fire Rescue are volunteering their time today to raise funds for muscular dystrophy…
Every year at this time, fire fighters across North America go out with their boots in-hand to collect donations to support MD research.
While there are some on-shift fire fighters out with their trucks at local grocery stores, the majority are volunteering their time as the two-day drive wraps up this afternoon.
PG Fire Rescue’s Greg Houston says, generally, the boot drive raises between $20- and $25-thousand dollars here in Prince George for muscular dystrophy.
Local fire fighters will turn their attention to the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation, with their annual Harley Davidson raffle getting underway in mid-November. And fundraising efforts for their third charity-of-choice, the Burn Fund, are ongoing throughout the year.
