City Grants Available For Winter Activities

Sunday, September 16, 2012 @ 5:04 AM
Prince George, B.C. – As we lap up the late summer sunshine, some may look on with disdain, others with anticipation, at the fact that winter isn’t that far away.

Well, the City of Prince George is encouraging residents to look ahead to the winter through its EnhancePG Committee. The committee is designed to promote and encourage positive winter life-styles for Prince George citizens and visitors. One of the ways to do this is through community events, lights, festive decorations and outdoor winter recreation.

EnhancePG in conjunction with the City of Prince George has implemented a grant program with funding available to help local community groups celebrate winter. Those interested in applying for a Community Enhancement Grant must demonstrate that they will add value to the City by hosting a winter event, festival or recreation activity; or a visual display with a winter theme. Grants are available to a maximum of $2000 with participants providing at least 50% of project costs (the 50% can be made up of volunteer hours, in-kind donations, cash, etc.).

The grant application deadline is 4:30pm, Friday, October 12th, 2012.

For more information or to access an application form call the City of Prince George at 250-561-7640 or visit the City’s website at www.princegeorge.ca and click on City Living > EnhancePG > Enhancement Grants.

Can I get a grant for potholes?

I want to set up a nativity scene in the Civic Square.

I want to go away for winter. I also want to move away from PG and leave the tax and spend idiots behind. Too bad the city has decreased the value of my home so bad I can’t sell it. I have to give it away and start over somewhere else.

traveller,

By all means sell your crummy house then and leave. Please, the city has decreased the value of your home? Real estate data wouldn’t support that kind of claim unless you paid way way too much for your house to begin with, which just makes you not very bright, but has nothing to do with this city.

I have to agree with Sine… if you are into your house so tight that you cant afford to sell it when the market is good you have made some seriously poor decisions, dont blame the city for them.
