Prince George, B.C.- The work to prepare for the 2015 Canada Winter Games in Prince George is well underway. The demolition and reconstruction of the new Kin 1 is on track, and today, the Canada Winter Games team took a tour of the work being done at Tabor Mountain.
Tabor will host Snowboarding events in week 1 of the 2015 Canada Winter Games and Freestyle events in week 2.
The site is undergoing some changes including the recently completer Boardercross course which rivals any other such course in Western Canada.
The slopestyle course ( in photo at right, photo courtesy Canada Winter Games Host Society) is under construction and will be finished this year. It will consist of jumps, rails and boxes for all levels of skill.
The half pipe will be developed next year, there’s work to be done to complete the mogul site, as well as the existing Aerial site.
There is also work being done on the T-bar at Tabor to ensure it is operational for future use and during the Games.
Total cost for this project is approximately $150,000 which is being shared by Tabor Mountain and the 2015 Canada Winter Games Host Society.
