Large Lynx Family Spotted
Female lynx and her kittens, photo- 250News
Prince George, B.C. – There are a number of reasons why living in the "250" is special, and our photographer was able to snap some shots of 5 of those reasons.
On his way back from Nazko on the Blackwater Road, he spotted a female Lynx.
He pulled over and watched and waited. In a few moments she showed up on the side of the road with three kittens. He watched as she dashed across the road, to meet up with two more offspring that were patiently waiting for mom.
Five babies is a lot for any mother, but it would seem this mom was trying to move her family to a new home. We just thought it would be nice to share these lovely photos with you.

Wow very nice pictures. Now hopefully some idiot won’t searching for them with dogs!
Whoever took these pics, thanks very much, not something you see everyday. Lynx have to be the most curious of animals, I’ve had my close encounters with them also and they don’t shy very easy, only when I reached for my camera.
Great pictures. What an opportunity for the photographer. The only time I have seen a lynx is when one ran across Highway 16 East (halfway between Tabor and Purden).
Great pictures. I have the Robert Bateman lynx at the entrance to a cave painting above my fireplace mantle in the living room. Great painting, but I’ve yet to see one in the wild.
I’ve seen a wolverine on three occasions, one out Miworth and one out fly fishing on the blackwater and one tree planting up north. I’ve also seen cougars up the Nechako, but never a lynx yet.
The cougar last summer was the most amazing how fast it moved and incredibly large. Twice the length of a large german Sheppard and probably waist height on all fours. One two leaps and it was across the road and up the bank… blink and one would miss it.

You saw a lynx flyfishing and another planting tree’s?
Damn those animals are versatile!
there were a bunch a Cougars spoted at Shooters on Ospika last night.Apparently this is a common occurance
No old man. I didn’t see the lynx carrying out those activities. If I did I would have took pictures of that though. Those were activities I was doing when I seen the wolverines. I wrote that I have seen wolverines on three occasions (notoriously elusive animals), but that I have yet to ever see a wild lynx myself.
Point taken that my English could be better lol.
Minx at the generator, too many fleas………

That was no lynx. It was a wolverine that was flyfishing and planting trees. We need all the help we can get with imroving our forests.
Beautiful pictures, wonderful opportunity well taken. Thank you.
