Prince George, B. C. – A 21 year old Calgary man with former ties to Prince George has been arrested and charged with armed robbery in connection to a hold up at a gas station at 5th and Carney Monday evening.
As a result of information received from the public following the release of a surveillance camera photograph, police received information on the possible identity of the suspect.
Just before noon today, members of the Prince George RCMP’s Crime Reduction Team located and arrested a suspect. The arrest occurred as a result of a traffic stop on the 800 block of Ewert Street in the City.
Charged with Robbery with a Firearm is Raymond Douglas Pennicott.
"This is another example of the great work done by our members with the assistance of the public. We have an unknown suspect from another community, that we are able to identify, locate and arrest within 24 hours of obtaining a photo" says Cpl. Craig Douglass, Prince George RCMP media liaison officer. "A special thank you to the media and those members of the public that provided information."
Officers are continuing to investigate and will be looking into the possibility Pennicott may have been involved in two recent restaurant robberies. Further charges are possible.

Great job guys. If he is guilty, keep this monkey off the streets.
Karma got you, dude. That’ll teach ya.
You’re welcome.
I say lock him in a room with the shell employee and allow him/her to beat him within an inch of his life.
If it’s the kid I think it is. He went to Westwood elementary. Very sad, never had a good chance to succeed in life.
Great work by the Mounties and the public! I think whoever gave the information to the police, did a wonderful thing. It made the Mounties’ job so much easier and faster. Thankyou.
f-150: you know, everyone has a conscience and there is advice out there for people who will seek it. We all make choices everday. Some people choose wisely and others don’t. It is too bad but that’s what some people choose.
One day in jail and eighteen months probation. Again. Just wait.
Everybody makes mistakes when they are in a hard spot in life or haven’t really had a good chance in life! He’s a great guy that made a stupid mistake. I know he’s going to get actual jail time cause hes an adult. I get everybody has there opinions but hes not a scary guy and defiently not a monkey!!! I would trust him with my life and my kids. Anybody ever sat back to think that prince george is not a good place and with not very good ppl to help a person in the right direction when they have nothing!!!
Any chance he was looking for help and figured out that he might best find it in jail?
I’m serious. He might actually find more direct help with addiction (assuming here) locked up than waiting for the spotty inconsistent service available to the non criminal. Why else would he commit armed robbery without at least a disguise?
metalman.
