Prince George, B.C. – Prince George RCMP are investigating a report of a shooting this afternoon off the Hart Highway.
Several police cars are presently in the vicinity of Northwood Pulp Mill Road and Clubhouse Drive, the road leading into the Aberdeen Golf Course.
An RCMP spokesperson says one person has been taken to University of Northern B.C. Hospital with what appears to be a gunshot wound.
"We have yet to confirm that is what happened," says Corporal Craig Douglass. The condition of the victim is not known.
Corporal Douglass says the call to police was received around 3:20 this afternoon and several officers responded to the scene. "Officers are at the hospital to follow up with this individual, here at the scene we are still trying to determine what happened."
Douglass says while it is too early to say if this incident was a targeted attack or random, "Given the location where it is here, it doesn’t seem like a place for a random incident. It is more than likely, this would be a targeted thing. That’s our big concern here, is whether the public is at risk. Certainly we are concerned (about public safety), but we don’t have any reason to believe the public is at risk at this point."
He says it is also far too early to determine what may have triggered this incident. The search for a suspect continues.

Nice, safe town we live in.
you bet geek – avoid becoming a gang member or doing drugs and incurring debts then you will be perfectly safe.
I have a real problem with what happened at the hospital during this incident my wife of 42 years was admitted to the emergency at 5:00 and they closed the emergency down. I did not know if she was going to live or die and they would not let me in to see her. If something happened to her this asshole would have been the least of their worries. They wonder why people go off the dweep end and do what they do??????
I am sure this guy whipped out his Care Card upon admission to the hospital like all good people.
I agree with you Browndog. The system is terribly screwed up sometimes.
Could it be that they locked the emerg. down in case of reprisals?
I hope your wife is okay.
metalman.
hey interceptor its not only the gang members but what about us bystanders
?
I found out 15 min ago that she is ok but still have not seen her thanks for the reply
I have been in this world for 63 years I can look after me and mine. If the system can not I will.
The local LAW ha ha ha ha can not do any thing if you want to look after your own then you have to look after your own
I was this close to taking my own justice down to the hospital because U did not care anymore….the cops have no problem dealing with the likes of me…..opps just another mistake
Elaine, why are you allowing these comments on here? Brownshoe, funny someone of 63 years would be using such language. You obviously haven’t learned any tact or respect in your years. The ER was locked down for the protection of everyone as a ‘badguy’ was brought in there. The lockdown is so other ‘badguys’ can’t come in there and finish the job. Jesus think outside the box, there’s a broader picture than just your little bubble.
Anyone care to point out where it said this has anything to do with drugs or gangs?
Feel sorry for you Browndog but may not see anymore of your comments with your colourful language
I’m glad to hear that your wife is ok, but you’re definitely not. Hopefully you’re drunk, and that isn’t your normal way.
The first thing I thought too was that he was drunk. Let’s hope for his wife’s sake he wasn’t.
Jeez, Browndog, got to love the irony in that someone else got shot due to the likely administration of frontier justice but now you get all pissy and want to hand out more of the same. You’re no different and certainly no better. For your wife’s sake, I hope, like the others, that you’re all liquored up and talking out of your head.
I would just like to say, a few nights ago a heard gun shots, sirens then more gun shots followed by blood curdling screams, out on the hart highway. Was it on the radio, in the news?? No. This town is diagusting. The stories told to the public are always twisted. ALWAYS. or just not even told at all. Sick. This town is out of control. Id say we our NOT getting our taxes paid, worth.
We cut Browndog some slack over his emotions at the time along with a follow up note to his e-mail telling him we donât tolerate the kind of language he or anyone feels free to use.
His offensive comments were removed, thanks for taking him to task, self policing is the best.
I moved out of PG a couple months ago and am glad to be away from the depressing spirit which is over the city.
I am sure Browndog was welled up with emotion and when your wife of forty plus years is in such a crisis, one will be focused. But in the grand scheme of things, if we all know that he is emotional about it, let him rant, his rant is not going to change a thing, except make him feel good for that moment.
Sometimes releasing emotions can be good (preferably minus the swearing). I do feel for Browndog in his situation and I would be very anxious if I was in his shoes aswell. Nice that Meisner bent the rules a bit in this case.
We all need to be aware of the protocol at the hospital whenever a prisoner, or fugitive, or anyone our RCMP or Prison system bring in take priority over the rest of us. Bad guys or good guys, doesn’t really mater. We will take a back seat every time. Doesn’t really matter what is wrong with you. That is just my opinion and my experience. I do not know if it is policy or fact.
Profanity denotes a lack of command of the English language. Is all.
