RCMP Call Conference To Announce ‘Significant’ Development On Highway of Tears
Prince George, BC – RCMP Officers have called a news conference for tomorrow morning to announce a significant development in the investigation into the 18 missing and murdered women along BC’s so-called Highway of Tears, Highway 16-East, along with Highways 97 and 5.
A statement issued by BC RCMP this afternoon says the officers from Project E-PANA will also be issuing a plea for assistance from British Columbians, Canadians, and Americans.
A technical briefing for media has been set in advance of the news conference in Surrey to provide background on the E-PANA investigation. The conference, itself, is set for 11:15am and will include senior officers from the investigation, a family member and a representative from the United States.
The release states, "While specifics are not available in advance of the news conference, we don’t wish to (raise unnecessary) concern. So we can confirm that any families impacted (sic) have been notified."
E-PANA investigators will be available to speak with the media in Prince George and Kamloops on Wednesday.

These were details of the process almost 3 years go.
It will be interesting to see what headway hs been made.
Looking for further assistance and including Americans as well; I assume based on some new clues.

Good ole RCMP can’t keep a story quiet …. wasn’t it the CBC that got some information from a local Councillor at one time … ;-)
Don’t these folks know that there is no such thing as “off the record”?
I’m not sure when this person went to prison in the states or how many of the murders will line up with his time out of prison, but I assume that this will confirm that there were at least a number of crimes committed by unrelated persons and that the geography and HWY 16 linkage was the lone connection? Even that could be a nebulous connection given the length of the highway and the sheer volume of traffic and different communities along its path.
My thoughts go out to the victims and families of the victims. Perhaps this will provide some closure for people and the larger community if it can reasonably be shown that an active predator is not still out there in the scale that it may have first seemed.
