Gotta love this weather :) I honestly can’t remember having such good weather for such a long period of time.

“An Inconvenient Tooth”, a documentary about fluoride was released earlier this month. I encourage you to watch this video and share it with others

http://aninconvenienttooth.org

An excerpt from the video

http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2012/09/25/oregon-water-fluoridation.aspx

I think Stephen Harper shows himself this week to be one of the biggest chicken hawks in Canadian history. The man wants war on Iran and will do all that he can in his power to take Canada to war for Israel.

Canada was the only country in the world to walk out on the UN this week… come on now Canada use to be known as the global leader in a multilateral world.

This gets Harper the Global ‘statesmanship’ award by an organization founded by one of the most hard core zionist chicken hawk and accused war criminal in none other than Henry Kissinger. Shame on Harper for sharing a stage with those pushing for war.

Harper got this award for his unconditional support for Israel, and not for the Lester Pearson type statesmanship. Harper is guilty of the following:

– Barring British MP George Galloway from entering Canada for the British MP’s support of a Palestinian State. Using anti-terrorism laws to bar free speech from an elected official from a country he wants to share embassies with.

-Called Israel’s 2009 invasion of Lebanon a ‘measured response’ asking what Canadian peacekeepers were doing on that border in the first place when two Canadian peacekeepers are targeted and killed by Israel, so as to silence outside observers.

– Provided the only nay on the UN Human Rights Council when they condemned the brutal Israeli invasion and siege of Gaza launched on Christmas day of 2008.

– Refused to condemn the Israeli murder of peace activists in international waters who tried to run the Gaza blockade with food and medical supplies. In fact provided cover for Netanyahu at the time of the incident with a bilateral meeting where he could provide his immediate support.

– Harper opposes any attempt by the IAEA to probe Israeli nuclear facilities in an attempt by the IAEA to create a nuclear weapons free zone in the middle east… instead Israel announces this week through the Jerusalem Post that Israel now have a nuclear armed submarine in the Persian Gulf for contingency in an Iranian attack… meaning Canada would be party to an Israeli nuclear attack on Iran.

– Harper government cut off all aid to Gaza and all aid to Palestinian aid groups.

– Harper supports the two state solution where one state has all the rights and is allowed to expand at will into the other with unrecognized boarders. The Canadian value of equality before the law does not apply in Israel.

– Harper allows goods manufactured in the occupied territories by illegal settlers to be labelled ‘made in Israel’ for free trade to Canada via the Canada-Israel Free Trade deal.

– Harper signed the security partnership agreement with Israel allowing them full access to RCMP and CSIS intelligence on Canadian citizens. Giving a rouge foreign nation domestic powers in Canada to silence their critics.

So from an Israeli standpoint Harper deserves the ‘Global Statesmen’ award as the only global leader willing to defend what is increasingly a criminally rouge regime.

Then we have the events of the recent few weeks. Terry Jones a terrorist agitator fronting as a priest, somehow from a small church of a few dozen parishioners, is able to spend $20 million dollars for a world wide broadcast of 13-minute video produced by PJ Media (owned by Israeli-American republican financier Sheldon Adelson) that sparks a global conflagration used as a cover for the assassination of a (pro-arab democracy) American Ambassador.

Fox News and Israeli apologists everywhere will tell you the 13-minute video doesn’t matter… they need to break their connection as it becomes clearer every day that this assassination hit on the American Ambassador to Libya was in fact a very professional state sponsored operation… using the dial up street protestors as a cover. Pure coincidence they will tell you as they try to create the impression we have another Jimmy Carter scenario and Romney is the new Reagan.

Israel crossed the red line and now has the caputz to talk about red lines… Harper is standing tall as Netanyahu’s side kick accepting his awards. Meanwhile the Obama democrats in the USA are furious at the attempt to influence the American election by the likes of Netanyahu and Harper… and are now saying that payback is a bitch, and if these actors don’t respect American sovereignty then they can expect little respect of their sovereignty in domestic politics after the November election… obviously Americans agree as Obama is taking off in the polls as the false flag operation is backfiring.

I think Harper is putting Canada on the wrong side of history showing complete loyalty to a nation that is trampling on Canadian values with allegiance not to what is best for Canada, but rather what is best for an extremist political ideology (zionism)… and if that brings Canada into war than so be it is the Harper governments position.

IMO Harper is the scariest chicken hawk in Canadian history and he is right that we will not recognize Canada when he is done with it.

Time Will Tell

As of November 1st all immigrants applying for entry into Canada must provide that they are proficient in either English or French a ruling in which I whole heartily agree with.

For yrs immigrants only had to supply that they had knowledge of either language now they have to prove they can speak and understand French and/or English. I am not against them speaking their native language but they have to understand that they are no longer in their country of origin yes they do have the right to speak their language but they also have to understand that if they want to live in Canada they must be able to speak and understand our languages.

A bit harsh Dearth. I don’t agree with this rule at all. I think that if you are accepted into Canada under all the other rules then that is good enough. It can’t be easy learning a new language (especially English) while living in a new country. I am pretty sure that not knowing the language in your adopted country is harder on the immigrant than the citizens of that country. Cut your fellow man some slack Dearth.

Excellent post Eagleone. Harper’s motives are frightening for Canada.

I agree. Excellent post eagleone.

When dealing with the overall philosophy of a force called ‘Zionism’, it might serve us well to remember it’s always what we DON’T see that’s usually the far greater danger than what we do see.

I find it highly amusing that Eagleone seems to think so much of Lester Pearson and the UN when both were of far greater service to the real interests and goals of Zionism than Stephen Harper’s professed support for Israel ever have been, and likely ever will be.

But don’t worry, Eagle, Justin Trudeau is waiting in the wings to ‘save us’, and get us back on course.

@bornandbread – I agree with Derth. My parents were both immigrants and to be honest with you didn’t try to hard to learn english. Its a huge mistake as there are much better jobs and schooling if you pick up the language.

All in all its really ignorance.. I could see not knowing the language in the first while but to be here 20yrs and not speak is a problemm.

You can take government exams to challenge certain skills with an interpreter now. How does this make sense? Who is going to interpret on the job? Its a joke and unsafe.

Please slow down in school zones.. I am able to drive my daughter to school daily and I am absolutely shocked at how many people ignore the simple rules. Running behind? Leave earlier. Slow down- it is not worth it

Socred, if by what we ‘don’t see’ you mean the money moving around between unregulated banksters in cahoots with the central banks… then you are making a good point.

As for Lester Pearson and the UN… lets just remember his diplomacy prevented an Israeli induced nuclear attack on Egypt at the time of the USS Liberty and the Suez crisis… he played a small role. What I admire about the man, regardless if he was a liberal, is that Pearson was probably the most representative of free enterprise principles of any politician in the last 50 years. You can’t take that from him, and in a world of zionist banksters that’s our best defense. He represented an equalizer of opportunity in a fair law based society.

Dearth for the most part then we will have immigrants from North Africa (French), and India, USA, and the Philippines as the main English speaking countries.

It would be interesting how this would apply to the Chinese… soon they will own our resources and have traditional access to Arctic fishing rights… maybe they will want to ‘South China Sea’ us and treat us like they do the Philippines and Japan when it comes time for sovereignty over ‘their’ resources. At least if the Chinese all speak English maybe they will understand us more? In any event most new Chinese buy their citizenship through an investment in realestate, so the English fluency hurdle won’t apply to them.

Probably the motive for the requirement is designed to keep the bar high for those coming from the Muslim world. Problem is how it would apply to things like spouses, or other family relations.

“As of November 1st all immigrants applying for entry into Canada must provide that they are proficient in either English or French a ruling in which I whole heartily agree with”

Maybe Canada should lead by example and ensure that through our education system, all of our citizens are fully bilingual in English and French. I work with many people who immigrated to Canada and in addition to English, they are typically fluent in at least one and in many cases, two or three other languages. “Born and raised” Canadians are so far behind much of the world when it comes to linguistic abilities it isn’t even funny.

Addressing that would not only help us achieve a greater sense of country, but it would also increase our fortunes as we try and develop our economy on a global scale. Want to be a world player? Act like you are part of the larger world . . .

Filtered, Thanks for posting the link to the video on fluoride! A perusal of the responsible government website reveals that the chemical effluent fluoride has undergone some lipsticking in the last few years. Having been initially classified as a drug it has now been officially morphed into a “nutritive” (!) supplement, added to drinking water to assist in the control of cavities.

Statistics supplied by the WHO for the last twenty years show that there is no discernible difference in cavities in fluoridated countries vs non-fluoridated countries, In fact the incidence of cavities has declined equally because of improvements in dental hygiene.

However, fluoride has a double personality. Although officially called a “nutritive” mineral supplement when added to tap water it is still classified a drug when applied to teeth by dentists.

Supplements must be taken (in my opinion) in dosages which are controlled, i.e. not to exceed so many mg or international units per day. My doctor suggested (!) that I supplement with 1000 I.U. per day of vitamin D.

The intake of the “nutritive” supplement fluoride is totally uncontrolled. One glass of P.G. tap water has the same amount of fluoride in it as a fluoride pill which people can buy at the drugstore.

The more tap water I drink (8 glasses per day are recommended) the more fluoride I get into my body. How do I know that I need fluoride, what the concentration of accumulated fluoride is in my body organs like kidneys, thyroids, pineal gland and bones? I do not know because there are no regular lab tests to determine what they are!!!

In the Similkameen area of B.C. there are many wells on private property which have high concentrations of naturally occurring fluoride. Residents are officially urged to have their water tested and not to drink it if it doesn’t conform to standard limits. They are urged to drink bottled water only. The same advisory also asks people who have wells close to neighbours (who are on fluoridated tap water and who have septic fields) to have their well water tested regularly because the fluoridated water seeps into the ground and pollutes ground water.

Nutritional supplements should be the choice of each consumer, according to individual needs. Mass “nutritive” supplementation via the water supply is unscientific, uncontrolled, unethical and unnecessary.

98% of B.C. residents are not being subjected to this practice? Are they lacking an essential “nutritive” supplement?

Of course not! Fluoride is NOT essential to human life.

Let’s make the last remaining 2% (us in P.G. included) hydrofluorosilicic acid fluoride manipulation free!

Health Canada statement on fluoride in drinking water (June 23, 2011):

“Health Canada continues to strongly support water fluoridation as a safe, effective and cost effective public health measure to help prevent dental cavities.”
“The safety and efficacy of water fluoridation has been frequently studied and continues to be supported by current science, and the beneficial effects of fluoride in the prevention of dental cavities have been well documented in scientific literature. “
http://www.hc-sc.gc.ca/ahc-asc/media/ftr-ati/_2011/2011_82-eng.php

From the US Dept. of Health:
“One of water fluoridation’s biggest advantages is that it benefits all residents of a community—at home, work, school, or play,” said HHS Assistant Secretary for Health Howard K. Koh, MD, MPH. “Today’s announcement is part of our ongoing support of appropriate fluoridation for community water systems, and its effectiveness in preventing tooth decay throughout one’s lifetime.”
http://www.hhs.gov/news/press/2011pres/01/20110107a.html

From the CDC:
“For 65 years, community water fluoridation has been a safe and healthy way to effectively prevent tooth decay. CDC has recognized water fluoridation as one of 10 great public health achievements of the 20th century. “
http://www.cdc.gov/fluoridation

From the World Health Organization:
“Water fluoridation in low fluoride-containing water supplies helps to maintain optimal dental tissue development and dental enamel resistance against caries attack during the entire life span. Fluoride in drinking water acts mainly through its retention in dental plaque and saliva. Frequent consumption of drinking water and products made with fluoridated water maintain intra-oral fluoride levels. People of all ages, including the elderly, benefit from community water fluoridation.”
http://www.who.int/water_sanitation_health/oralhealth/en/index2.html

From the Water Fluoridation Controversy Wikipedia page:
“The weight of the scientific evidence have found that at the dosage recommended for water fluoridation, the only clear adverse effect is dental fluorosis, which can alter the appearance of children’s teeth during tooth development. This effect is mildly cosmetic and is unlikely to represent any real effect on public health.[8] Despite opponents’ concerns, water fluoridation has been effective at reducing cavities in both children and adults.”
“Opposition to fluoridation has existed since its initiation in the 1940s.[1] During the 1950s and 1960s, some opponents of water fluoridation suggested that fluoridation was a communist plot to undermine public health.”
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_fluoridation_controversy

Another good page which debunks a lot of the claims made.
“You’ll also hear the claim that fluoridation has been banned in Europe. This is also completely untrue. In Europe it’s more common to fluoridate salt instead of water, thus bringing the same benefits via a different delivery method.” …
… “Let’s turn our eye onto one such community, Arcata, an idyllic coastal hamlet in northern California, that recently won this battle after a divisive and painful fight in the newspapers and in city hall. A principal champion of the science behind fluoridation is Kevin Hoover, editor of the Arcata Eye newspaper. In answering the flood of anti-fluoridation scare tactics, Hoover said:
There are no known victims. If there was a problem with municipal fluoridation, wouldn’t we have at least a few people who showed some signs of harm after 44 years? All the anti-fluoride people could say was that the victims are “undiagnosed,” but not why. They produced no victims, just lots of dubious statistics and horror stories with no provenance.”
http://skeptoid.com/episodes/4058

Canadian Cancer Society:
On the basis of current evidence, it appears unlikely that water fluoridation increases the risk of cancer, including osteosarcoma, in humans. At the same time, we know that there are many benefits to water fluoridation, especially for people who have less access to dental care.
http://www.cancer.ca/Canada-wide/About%20cancer/Cancer%20myths/Fluoride%20in%20water.aspx?sc_lang=EN

“Probably the motive for the requirement is designed to keep the bar high for those coming from the Muslim world”

You mean like my friend from Algeria who is fluent in English, French and Arabic? Or my friend from Iran who is fluent in English and Persian? The former is Muslim, the latter is not. Hmmm, I guess if that was the intent of the policy it wasn’t very well thought out.

Eagleone that was quite a diatribe. Hope you wrote a letter to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and apologized for the actions of Harper.

I think it’s time for an information session -a session that’s free and open to the residents of PG.
Let’s bring together the Dr’s, dentists and health officials that support water fluoridation, and the Dr’s, dentists and scientists that oppose water fluoridation to debate the issue.

If there is a discriminatory motive of any kind to keep non “world language” speakers out of this country it would be to discriminate against the poor in whatever country.

Would that make any sense? Not really, in my mind since there are plenty of people who are poor who live in countries which are either French or English speaking.

Before we ask them to debate, I would want to know whether they actually know anything about the topic.

Just because one is a doctor, and even a dentist, does not mean one is an expert unless one is an epidemiologist and has dealt with fluoride related statistics or a research scientist, who may or may not be a medical doctor, who is familiar with the effect or possible effect of fluoride on body tissues.

Practitioners can relate anecdotal information related to their everyday practice. Anything further than that, they would have to be specifically interested in the fluoride issue and have kept abreast of the literature.

I suspect the best we could hope for is a dentist who has practiced for more than 10 years in a non fluoride city and has parcticed for at least 10 years in PG or another community who has fluoridated water. Those anecdotal observations should add information to part of the debate.

Hey, is that a new version of JB I am seeing ….. thumbs up for JB’s post on fluoride!!!

JohnnyBelt, no amount of posting websites which support fluoridation of public water supplies negates the latest scientific evidence of long term ill effects on human health!

It does not address civil rights, personal rights of the individual, moral issues, ethical issues, the freedom of choice for every individual, the haphazard aspects of uncontrolled dosages which depend on how much tap water EACH INDIVIDUAL consumes durind a day, a week, a month and a year. It does not address the fact that some fluoride accumulates in the organs of the body – meaning that not all of it is excreted. It does not deal with the problem that people with kidney or bladder dysfunction ought not to imbibe industrial grade fluoride and that consumers are urged not to prepare baby formula with fluoridated city tap water….I could go on, but as far as you are concerned nothing will persuade you to address the fact that Canada is over 60% fluoridation free and that B.C. is already 98% fluoridation free as is the province of Quebec.

Fluoridation is unnecessary, potentially harmful and a glaring affront to the right of each Canadian to make a choice about what they put into their bodies!

None of my writing is copy and paste! With me fluoridaton is a human rights issue, in fact it is the most intolerable human rights abuse that I am being subjected to and that is experienced by me in an otherwise exceptionally tolerant and compassionate Canadian society!

I do not know what your motives are (either you are a dentist or you are making a great profit selling this chemical effluent to the only three remaining towns in B.C.) but whatever you they are they are utterly disrespectful of my personal rights.

I have asked the city to run a water line with non-fluoridated water to my house and was greeted with scornful derisive laughter!

I don’t need your attempt at lecturing as I know a lot more about the long term detrimental health effects of artificial fluoridation than you do.

Sticks and stones maybe, but not scorn and cheap ridicule!

Perhaps authorities are afraid to admit that they were wrong to pronounce it as totally safe – there might be a sunami of law suits in the making, in fact it is about to happen sooner rather than later.

Filtered:”Let’s bring together the Dr’s, dentists and health officials that support water fluoridation, and the Dr’s, dentists and scientists that oppose water fluoridation to debate the issue.”

Not here, in Prince George! It would be a waste of time if the present council is still around when it happens. There is in my opinion no respect for individual rights and the wise exercise of caution here when it comes to mass fluoridation of the city water supply.

It’s an impasse. Go figure! The last remaining large bastion in the whole province!

Today I bought some table salt – there are two kinds to CHOOSE from – with or without iodine!

But with water – No choice! Go figure!

They did that public consultation information exercise (pros and cons) in Williams Lake before the last municipal election and put fluoridation to a referendum!!! Result: 3 to 1 defeat of fluoridation! It’s history!

Congratulations to the city of Williams Lake!

“a glaring affront to the right of each Canadian to make a choice about what they put into their bodies!”

Why would chlorination of water not fall under the same category as fluoride. Does the degree of certainty have anyting to do with it? If so, who draws the line?

I agree with you, Prince George. In my mind it is a rights and moral issue. Just wondering at what point it becomes a rights and moral issue.

PG: “I do not know what your motives are (either you are a dentist or you are making a great profit selling this chemical effluent to the only three remaining towns in B.C.) “

No and no. I’m not sure why you keep pursuing this angle. I’m interested in what the major scientific bodies are telling me, not conspiracy theorists.

PG: “but whatever you they are they are utterly disrespectful of my personal rights. “

How do you figure that? Why is your opinion any more valid than the scientific websites I listed? People should be able see both sides of the coin, would you not agree?

Is language the only requirement for immagrents to enter Canada. How about being financialy secure. I have herd that that is not a requirement. Seems there are some that lkve on social assistance.

Help me on this what is fact and what is fiction.
Cheers

PG: “Today I bought some table salt – there are two kinds to CHOOSE from – with or without iodine! “

I hope you chose the right type!

“Iodised salt (also spelled iodized salt) is table salt mixed with a minute amount of various iodine-containing salts. The ingestion of iodide prevents iodine deficiency. Worldwide, iodine deficiency affects about two billion people and is the leading preventable cause of mental retardation.[1]”

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iodized_salt

Tead this article about chlorination because it shows why I put chlorination and fluoridation into the same category when making an argument based on human rights.

http://orthomolecular.org/library/jom/2000/articles/2000-v15n02-p089.shtml

“Chlorination is inferior water treatment on at least two counts. (1) Although it has greatly lowered infectious waterborne diseases in the U.S.A. and Canada, chlorination fails against a variety of water problems including parasites and can seriously harm people who use the water. (2) Its cost is unnecessarily high. As of 1996, Andover, Massachusetts’ new ozone treatment costs $83 per million gallons of purified water, only two-thirds as much as the old treatment process. The town saves $64,000 annually in chemicals costs alone,1 and uses less electricity.

“Highly reactive chlorine is one of the industrial waste products profitably disposed of using people as garbage cans,8 then on into the environment. Chlorine oxidizes lipid contaminants in the water. It thus creates free radicals,2 (highly reactive atomic or sub-atomic particles lacking an electron) and oxysterols (formed when lipid and oxygen molecules combine).9,10

“To function we require moderate numbers of both free radicals and oxysterols. The immune system employs free radicals to kill cells that its cellular immune mechanism can’t handle. A second mechanism using free radicals initiates programmed cell suicide known as apoptosis.11 And moderate quantities of oxysterols, like cholesterol itself, serve a protective function.12 But excess free radicals and excess oxysterols damage arteries and initiate cancer, among many other kinds of harm.

“Chlorine in water destroys protective acidophilus, which nourishes and coöperates with the 3 to 3.5 pounds13 of immunity-strengthening “friendly” organisms lining the colon, where about 60 percent of our immune cells operate.14 And chlorine combines with organic impurities in the water to make trihalomethanes (THMs), or chloramines.”

And on and on ….. all sounds very familiar after reading the fluoride discussions.

I there anyone dealing with “pure” water issue addressed by MyPG? It is not all about fluoridation.

I want to make this very clear to JB, that in Europe do not force the people to take the fluoride if they don`t want it.Yes, there is salt with fluoride in it, but there is a big difference because there you have a choice which you forgot to mention. You see JB,the stores in Europe have all kinds of salts,it is up to you to get the salt you desire! The kosher salt is
the salt that my family prefers and buys it
always. That is in Europe where my elatives are. And that salt and others, don`t have the toxic chemical FLUORIDE!!!!! Here, in P.G. We don`t have a chice, we`re behind the times.

winterfell, it sounds like it was your parents’ choice to not pursue better jobs and schooling by mastering the English language. Just because some immigrants choose not to speak better English doesn’t make it right to make all immigrants have to do so.

I know people who were immigrants that didn’t have a very good handle on the English language and I wouldn’t call them ignorant. Most of them have had a successful life here in Canada.

I did not know that you can take exams through an interpreter. I am not sure if I support that or not. I would have to know what the exams are for. Some driving jobs might not require perfect English language skills but they should be able to read all the applicable signs, etc. that they would come across and have to know.

Gus: Hey, is that a new version of JB I am seeing ….. thumbs up for JB’s post on fluoride!!!

I agree Gus. Nice work JB. Before I even noticed who the poster was, I saw all the links and assumed it was Gus. I keep screwing up links whenever I try to post them. I see the instructions clearly laid out for me right below this window but still manage to mangle the process.

I love how PrinceGeorge is able to segue almost any topic on this site to water flouridation. I always look forward to seeing how PG will find the water flouridation angle regardless of the original intent of the story.

It’s like the six degrees of Kevin Bacon.

At least it has me thinking about the issue…

I feel very sad because here in Prince George, the City started fluoridating our water supply since 1955,other Cities in BC
started inthe 1990s and they quit in the meantime because they know better now! Thank God for that! The sad story is, that in our City of Prince George, are still living in the pass, as far as the fluoride goes they have not made any progress!!!! They`re still singing the same song, that fluoide is good for us, and just because we don`t see it and don`t smell it in our drinking water, but believe me the fluoride
is a very bad poion! It is the main engridient in RAT POISON!!!! Have good day!

JB:”I hope you chose the right type!”

It is none of your business! What matters is that I actually had a CHOICE, something that doesn’t seem to hold much of any value with you!

Gus, the difference is that chlorination is for treating WATER, to make it safer for human consumption!

Fluoridation is NOT a method of treating water! It does not make water safer, better tasting or better smelling!

It is a method of treating PATIENTS via a basic necessity – the water coming from the tap!

They do not ask whether you agree to it, they do not do follow-up tests to make certain you are not receiving too much! They don’t even know how much is too much when ingested over a long period of time!

It is an affront, medically, ethically, morally and from the aspects of human and civil right, in my opinion!

NOBODY has a right to force me to imbibe a substance (nutritive or drug related) without me giving consent! If I do not consent to it (on whatever grounds, scientific, moral, ethical or religious) they have no right to force it down my throat or into the pores of my skin when I am bathing!

Period! You don’t force an orthodox jew to eat food that is not kosher or has been prepared without kosher procedure!

I object to ingesting hydrofluorosilicic acid for personal reasons!

So, I do not wish to have it coming to my water tap anymore!

I do believe and insist I have the same rights as non-smokers who can not be forced to smoke or those who do not eat meat – they also can not be forced to eat it! It would be illegal, immoral and unethical!

No difference when it comes to fluoridation!

Shut it off – let people have choice – be respectful of human rights – don’t harm the children and the elderly – dentists are still going to be in business treating those who don’t brush and floss!

Hasta luego!

Another biased pile of s#it fom Eagle. Israel never invaded Lebanon. They responded to constant firing of rockets and border attacks. Harper is the first priminister in a generation to have any balls. Snubing the UN, a truly dysfunctional organization, looks good on Canada.

And did anyone notice, just after Eagle’s post, two people who have never commented before post their support within minutes of one another. Coincedence? Hmmm….

Just other anti-semites, JB.

Gus:”And on and on ….. all sounds very familiar after reading the fluoride discussions.

I there anyone dealing with “pure” water issue addressed by MyPG? It is not all about fluoridation.”

Pure water is the water when it is first pumped up from the pristine aquifer with which we are blessed! MhyPG seems to think that fluoridated water is pure, like some prominent city councillor!

A Brita water filter (inexpensive and quite highly rated by MarketPlace) removes 99% of chlorine from tap water! The company Brita on its website stresses the fact that a Brita filter does remove mercury, lead and other contaminents but it does NOT remove fluoride!

In order to have a whole house filtration system which removes all fluoride one has to purchase a very expensive filtration system consisting of as many as 8 to 12 filters which typically have to be replaced at least once a year. Expenses go into an initial outlay of a couple of thousand bucks + several hundred annually to puchase new cartridges,

Water distillation also removes fluoride but it is impractical for the whole house.

In order to avoid all that – the city can simply shut off the injection systems and let people make their own choice!

I know that is asking a lot, too much perhaps but it is a very clean and strikingly obvious solution! Other cities in B.C. have done it! Perhaps it takes too much courage and compassion?

Cars don’t have to be washed with fluoridated water and lawns will grow better, toilets don’t care one way or the other, although the fish in the river will be much better off too!

98% of B.C. is fluoride free – Prince George is not!

Let’s do something about that – first a face saving moratorium and then a total permanent discontinuation!

Can’t wait for the next municipal election! Three years are an eternity!

I didnt realize that Canada, and Stephen Harper were such big players on the World stage.

Fact of the matter is, we are not. What we say and do means very little to most people around the world.

Harper is probably the best Prime Minister we have had for some time, however he along with his predecessors are still **small time**

Anyone including Eagleone who thinks that Harper or Canada has any significant clout on the big issues of the day are just kidding themselves.

We sold our heart and souls to the Americans years ago, and we depend on them for most of what we produce, and for their military might to protect us.

Years ago Lyndon Johnson grabbed Prime Minister Pearson by the scruff of the neck (in the Whitehouse) and shook him like a rat, and told him to never piss on his parade again. This information remained classified until a few years ago.

The Americans had Trudeau black listed for years, and he was not allowed into the US. After he became Prime Minister they allowed him in.

Mulrooney was a terrible Prime Minister and will be remembered as a less than honest person, who brought in the GST, and sold us out to Corporate greed. His moment of glory was singing ** When Irish eyes are smiling** with another actor Ronald Regean.

Politicians in Canada, dont have a very good or high profile on the world stage. Much like Austrailia, New Zeland, Ireland, Scotland, etc;

Lets quit kidding ourselves. Any Country that would be considering Ignatieff, Bob Rae, Justin Trudeau, as their Prime Ministers have some serious problems in living in reality.

I’d have to agree, Palopu. Harper has been a much better Prime Minister by far than Lester Pearson or Pierre Trudeau, or any of the other more recent ones. There’s no doubt Trudeau embraced wholeheartedly the policy of “one people, one nation, one leader”. Which sounds less far less threatening in English than it did in German ~ “ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Fuhrer” ~ but is fundamentally the same thing. Just like with Zionism, it’s what we DON’T see that’s the danger.

“Any Country that would be considering Ignatieff, Bob Rae, Justin Trudeau, as their Prime Ministers have some serious problems in living in reality.”

I might be able to raise you one and call you on that

Any Country that would be considering Mitt Romney as their President/Prime Minister or other head of state has some serious problems in living in reality.

;-)

In case there are people who think things are getting really bad, we could apply the statement retroactively

“Any Country that would be considering Adolf Hitler as their President/Prime Minister or other head of state has some serious problems in living in reality.”

Whoever the Prime Minister is doesn’t change the fact that Canada is irrelevant on the world stage.

Hey Ben, why no comment section on some of your stories? ie.charges laid in Subway holdups.

Things have gone quiet on the pot hole front!! Brian Skakun must be doing a good job! ;-)

JB, you may decide to admit just once that I have a right for equal treatment by the city! Otherwise there is no discussion!

You may decide to admit that as a Canadian citizen I have civil, ethical and moral rights! They are even enshrined in the Charter of Human Rights, passed into Canadian law about 30 years ago. These rights are being trampled by forced medical treatment via the tap water supply.

I am against putting a corrosive polluted effluent fluoride chemical into my body! It`s a potentially aggressive mutagen, capable of provoking spontaneous cell divisions of damaged cells, meaning the potential of cancerous cells!

Unless the city will run a separate water line to my house there is only one solution to make my water fluoride free. Stop fluoridation.

I have asked the city to pay me the expense of putting in a whole house fluoride removal system. I was refused.

I have no desire to fight with others who think that fluoridation is great, beneficial, harmless and the best thing to come along since the invention of sliced bread!

I have just as many website addresses which support my conviction that I shouldn`t agree to fluoridation as you have been posting trying to get me to submit to it!

Give up on that idea! I will not give in – my personl health comes first, being a recent cancer survivor! Fluoride is unlikely to cause cancer, but it is not 100% certain that it does not! (Straight from the Cancer Society`s mouth!).

There is no agenda on my part to talk others into agreeing with me that fluoridation is harmful and not required.

They may do as the like.

I have rights and I am aware of what they are! No one may deny them without vigorous resistance from me! Posting additional websites in order to get me to give in is useless!

“Brian Skakun must be doing a good job! ;-) “

Maybe if you give him a shovel and a rake!

The tax holiday has worked so well(tongue planted firmly in cheek) in the downtown core Brian wants to make the land around the airport a reduced/no tax zone.

If everybody gets a tax holiday who is left to pay for the DES, new cop shop , Canada games, etc. Hmmmmmm let me guess…the ordinary homeowner:(

PG, as Shakespeare once said, methinks thou dost protest too much.

There are two sides of the coin. The majority of scientific evidence supports fluoridation, no matter how much you want to rant about it. Deal with it.

JB, I saw an article in the Free Press
and it is about the seniors dental health program. They`re looking for donations to continue. It says that 20% of Canadian seniors don`t have their natural teeth. JB, why don`t you help that program instead
of promoting your fluoride! as you can see the fluoride is useless! I think you should do the right thing and help the dental program and quit promoting this poison rat ingredient.

And the same sentiment goes for you too, ‘cleanliving’. Have a nice day.

Lots of talk today about the city trying to poison it’s citizens. I saw another example this week in the new playgrounds they are erecting to replace the ones with arsenic and copper preservatives in the wood.

After removing the old playground and preparing the site what is the first thing they do? Build a containment wall around the perimiter with 2 or 3 layers of 8×8 PRESERVED WOOD. Now there is about 100 times more arsenic laced wood in the immediate area than there was with the few boards in the old playground.

With the clay based soils in this area these poisons will not drain away but build up in the pea gravel base.

And btw to PG and ‘clean’, your quarrel isn’t with me, it’s with Health Canada, the US Dept. of Health, the CDC, the World Health Organization, the Canadian Cancer Society, and most Dental Health organizations.

All I did was post their links… I didn’t tell them what to say. Take your concerns up with them.

JB, you are trying to make a getaway by the rear exit door! If you did not agree with the websites which you posted and if you were not making an effort to refute the evidence of others who posted a contrary mantra – why did you post them at all? Slow day at the office (dental, city, NH)?

Since you still do not agree that I M ENTITLED to equal civil, moral and ethical rights I have given up on you admitting (just once) that I do have a right to those! You missed a great opportunity!

May your kind of unequal democracy die an early death!

Do you think I would be successful in acquiring from all those exulted authorities which you keep quoting witnessed and signed legal documents of their agreeing to be held personally responsible (financially and otherwise) if it can be proven that fluoridation indeed is and was contributing to cancer and other illnesses after all?

No? I rest my case. I am right and you know it.

JB, thank you for the advise! I`m thinking of doing just that! I`m thinking of going to a private Clinic and have a blood test and if I have too much fluoride in my blood, and if that is why I was diagnosed with cancer, God help us all!

Fluoride keeps the pipes from building up with plaque under our city. Water without fluoride in it is hard water, and tastes good.:)
The city only care’s about money not your health.
Anyone who vote’s for Justin Trudeau for Prime minister needs their head examined.
The countries policy needs to change on what’s your second language. What we all need is a good lesson on Chinese, Mandarin, Japanese, Hindu, Arabic, Persian or French Etc, or next time they will succeed in changing our national anthem. God keep our land glorious and free. We stand on guard for thee.
Happy days everyone, winter’s on its way!

PG: “If you did not agree with the websites which you posted and if you were not making an effort to refute the evidence of others who posted a contrary mantra – why did you post them at all?”

As I said, there are two sides to the coin. Why do you not want both sides presented so people can make up their own minds?

Anyway, keep up the rants… And I’ll continue to post my info. Have a good one!

I see numerous posts about being anti flouride.. there is a very easy fix.. Reverse Osmosis.. a system runs about $200.
It will remove flouride and other undesirables from your water. $200 is a fairly cheap fix to take care of all your flouride concerns.

“Brian wants to make the land around the airport a reduced/no tax zone.”

I did not realize that. I think you man a “free trade zone: or “duty free zone”, lonesome sparrow.

There are a lot of people that wish to do do that. I think it is time the feds got off their behinds and did it.

Brian wants to make the land around the airport a reduced/no tax zone

Without it, the lengthened runway and the light industrial park being developed next to it will never get off the ground. (oops… never get off the gound at an airport is a bad omen … )

With it, it will allow planes to land, drop off cargo, transfer it to regional planes which will ship it to a final destination. Or the parts/products could be used to manufacture/assemble something here with parts from different countries which are then shipped to final destination countries.

According to the link above Shannon was the first free trade zon, was developed in 1959, and is quite successful.

Not that we so not have successful things, but we could use a auccessful FTZ.

Prince George, I do not think that we have sensitive enough people on here who understand individual rights and freedom ….. unless it deals with guns .. such as gun registries for example . … LOL

P Val, how do I affix one of those reverse osmosis systems to the outlet of my hot water heater so I can have a fluoride free shower? I think the membranes will fail with hot water.

BTW, reverse osmosis removes some fluoride but not all.

JB, I do want both sides represented, including the ones with personal comments, like you usually post with the cut and paste stuff, although now you pretend that you only posted the links and nothing else!

How come? Chickening out?

A plea for fluoride free unpolluted tap water is a “rant”?

Nice going! 98% of B.C. (4.3 million people) are fluoride addition free! They don’t have a reason to “rant” any more!

Prince George, Ft. St. John and Terrace (about 0.1 million people – 2%) are still being subjected to it and whether you call it “ranting” or whatever have the freedom to speak up and demand an end to it.

No matter how often I posted this fact you choose to ignore it.

What is the matter with the 98%? Are they daft????????

gus…as per Free Press Sept 26 pg A3

“An adjusted tax incentive program around the airport might spur development in that area according to Prince George city Coun. Brian Skakun”

…”He added there are a number of variations as to what city council is willing to do as far as tax exemption goes”
————————————–
He forgot to add “building on the successes we had with a similar program in the downtown core”

The guy who said “from my cold dead hands” now has cold dead hands;)

Gus, I hate to think that you are correct in saying that! When Prince Charles and Diana visited the British press reported that we (PG) are a community of mountain men! As much as I resented it I am lately revisiting the issue with a fresh assessment!

Perhaps they had a small point? Why do we continue to be the last neanderthal 2% and seem to be satisfied with that and even comment aggressively in favour of staying that way?

PG: “Slow day at the office (dental, city, NH)?”

The Northern Health Authority! I forgot about them! Thanks to PG for giving me another link!

Some excerpts:

“Are fluorosilicate compounds toxic in drinking water?

No, fluorosilicate compounds are not toxic in drinking water. Fluorosilicate compounds “readily hydrolyse completely to release fluoride ions” when added to water (Reference). This means that once it is added to water, the fluoride completely and easily dissolves (Reference), safely fluoridating our water supply.

Is hydrofluorosilicic acid a safe source of fluroide?

YES! Hydrofluorosilicic acid is intended for community water fluoridation. (Reference) and is a NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) Certified Product, meaning it is safe for use with food products (Reference). “

“Is fluoridated water safe?
Yes. “Community water fluoridation has been studied more thoroughly than any other public health measure during the past 50 years” (Reference).”

The references are on the website. Thanks again, PG!

At least Mitt won’t kiss up to the religion of peace, hopefully.

dow7500 good post.

Eagleone here is some reading for ya, don’t have the big one. http://www.factsandlogic.org/ad_27.html
I will await your comment.

Esso on Bear rd is now selling gas with ethanol added. Time to move on to another station. That stuff decreases power and mileage. Also bad news for small engines.

The Saudi students had an information booth at UNBC but I did not see any females
Are any Saudi female students up there from that progressive country.

Just heard from a right winger on “Sun News”

“The job of government is to maximize liberties”.

So, let us apply that to fluoridation and chlorintion of water.

Now watching a segment on “food freedom” activists.

Those are the people who do not want public facilities to decrease choice of food that is served in automats, cafeteria, etc. and impose so-called healthy food.

To me it is the same thing – add things to water or remove choice from the sale of food.

“Take on the government for interfering with personal freedom.”

You are absolutely right JohnnyB they do say it is safe. But other reputable organizations are saying otherwise. But you are missing the point, people that don’t want fluoride in the water piped to their homes are being forced fed the medication. Could you imagine the city putting aspirin in the water because aspirin is safe in small doses? The who idea is ridiculous.

If having no flouride in my water was of primary importance to me in the Prince George area, I would simply buy a place just outside of the city limits where my water was provided by a well. There are many desireable locations close to town that fit the bill and many properties available for sale. Geez PG, you could have had this problem solved years ago. You could still be rallying support for removing flouride from our municipal water supply, but the whole time you did it, you could have been doing so while enjoying a delicious glass of unflouridated tap water.

If I lived near a cell phone tower and I believed that cell phone towers caused serious health problems, including cancer for myself and my family, I would MOVE FIRST, and THEN rage against the machine.

That’s got to be easier than continually banging your head against the wall to get the City to run a special water line to your house that has no flouride in it.

OMG! I just realized that taking a run at my grade 9 typing teacher is fair game now that I am 60 years old and have been told that a teacher pulling on my ears was abuse. Or, what about throwing chalk at me when I was talking in class?

Got to keep things in perspective. Back in the day, that was the norm and that was expected if you misbehaved in school.

I realize I have been scared forever, but I got over it. That was what happened back then. You either behaved or you got whatever the teacher handed out.

I got the strap in grade 6 or 7. I didn’t think I deserved it, but it sure gave me an attitude adjustment and I made sure it didn’t happen again.

Gus.

Centre Port Canada, was given the **ok** to establish a Free Trade Zone, also called a Foreign Trade Zone, by the Federal Government in 2009, along with huge funding from the Feds, Province, and the City of Winnipeg to develop the Centre Port, which will (and is) becoming the major distribution centre for Western Canada, if not all of Canada.

The intent is to load/unload, containers, trucks, railcars, planes, etc; and distribute to Canada, the USA, and Mexico, in addition to loading commodities for export via all Canadian Ports including Churchill Man. they will also handle imported goods from all over the world.

My understanding is that the FTZ in Winnipeg will be the only one in Canada. The Federal Government has no plans to allow for any more.

So I guess we can say that Prince George, and **Brian Skakun** is a day late and a dollar short.

Zack, thanks for your input! I have lived here a long time. For most of those years I was unaware of the truth about artificial
water fluoridation and the science around it has only evolved recently, as have the concerns based on reality. Had I known all that stuff years ago I would be living out of town and have my own safe well water supply.

I am not one to throw in the towel easily and run away from the place where I am living, especially now when only 2% of the whole population of the province is still exposed to it, all of it in the administrative area of Northern Health, coincidentally. How strange is that?

Recently I had the opportunity to talk to some health care workers in Kelowna. They expressed concerns and were amazed at the news that PG is still fluoridating.

The disrespect for equal human and civil rights here is stunning.

But, the days of fluoridation are numbered. The more people find out about it and what it is capable of doing to people the faster it will be history.

Tobacco, asbestos, DDT, lead in paint and gasoline, transfats and other things which are unsafe and unhealthy NOW used to be perfectly alright, according to most or all the health experts in government and in the medical professions.

If those who object to being force fed with industrial grade fluoride don’t speak up the harmful practice will be maintained much longer.

The number of people who are force fed with this poison globally is a very small percentage of the 7 billion, perhaps one third of a billion altogether or much less.

So we are looking at only 5% to 6%.

Everywhere else it is not an issue and never has been.

I try to avoid fluoridated water as much as possible as I do not want to have my cancer re-occur. Unfortunately one can not avoid bathing with it.

That’s a real problem. Thanks for your positive comment!

Yes it will remove all the fluoride if you buy the correct unit..as for your question of hooking up to your hot water tank, you would connect it to the inlet to the tank..not the outlet, and if your are very concerned it would be connected to the main supply so all your water is treated, you can also place it downstream of your outside taps so you don’t treat water for watering lawns etc.

Why not make the whole region tax free? People would flock to live here!! Or at least waive property taxes for the first year of residency. ;-). If its good for business it’s good for the populace. :-)

servant wrote: “I got the strap in grade 6 or 7. I didn’t think I deserved it, but it sure gave me an attitude adjustment and I made sure it didn’t happen again.”

Change the years to grade 4 and 5, and I could have written that.

It all changed when my parents realized that Catholic schools in Canada had a totally different approach to Catholic (state) schools in Germany.

But by now, we know that.

As far as an attitude adjustment. It sounds like it did not have the same effect on me than it had on you. It is interesting, when it comes to people, they all react differently to outside influence.

The reaction of my parents was quick. They realized that I was in the wrong school system and was put into the Canadian public school system which resulted in the difference between night and day.

I do agree that these kinds of things often happened in a place long ago and far away and it often does not help to punish people because they have moved on with their lives. They have self corrected and the only thing left is a true punishment for some questionable reasons.

To me it is a difficult issue. I would say it is a case by case situation.

I understand that is close to what happend in Shannon, Jim13135.

http://www.shannonireland.com

As far as the government oly having one such zone in Canada …. times change and governments change …. I learned that a long time ago. ;-)

P Val, thanks for the suggestions! I shall do more research to check this out in order to find a suitable unit to do reverse osmosis on all the water I come in contact with!

Prince George is doing its best (worst) to live up (down) to its neanderthal reputation!

Expect the worst here and you will never be disappointed!

Sorry for the negativity, but it is the reality of the situation!

To the city: Thanks for nothing!

Hey Eagle: YAWN!
Eagleone that was quite a diatribe. Hope you wrote a letter to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and apologized for the actions of Harper.
Thanks Seamutt.
And Johnnybelt, thankyou as well.
Some of these posts are just hilarious, made my day!

Price of bacon to go up. Blamed on droughts in different parts of the world raising the price of feed. Two pork producers in Canada bankrupt.
We have had bumper grain crops two years in a row in canada. We can produce our own feed so why the price increase.? Similar to our oil supply, having to pay world prices for our own.
I wonder how much growing crops for fuel plays into this.

OMG! I just realized that taking a run at my grade 9 typing teacher is fair game now that I am 60 years old and have been told that a teacher pulling on my ears was abuse. Or, what about throwing chalk at me when I was talking in class?
