Prince George, B.C. – It has taken all summer, but this weekend, the Little Prince will be on track and blowing steam as it makes its way around Fort George Park.
The historic steam engine was sidelined this year because of a need for major repairs. Two new steam injectors have now been installed, the engineers are fully certified, and Conductor Steve will be suited up and waiting for riders to be “all aboard” at noon on Saturday for the first ride of this year.
“It has been a long process to work through,” said Tracy Calogheros CEO of the Exploration Place and The Fort George Railway. “The Safety Authority has been wonderful, our sponsors and City Hall have been supportive and understanding throughout and we are now ready to share our success with the public.”
The Little Prince turned 100 years old this year, making it three years older than the City of Prince George.
The train ride takes about 15 minutes, and will be free all weekend as a means of saying thank you to everyone who have waited patiently for the train’s return.
Calogheros says the only thing that would prevent the Little Prince from choo-chooing this weekend would be inclement weather. She advises people call the Museum first to ensure the train is raining before heading to the Fort George Railway Station at Exploration Place (250-562-1612) .
The train is set to run from noon to 4, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

The little Prince is in the core review about being cancelled. Would be a shame, many memories for a lot of people. Also it is very unique, be a shame to loss it.
