Cariboo Pulp Says Yes to Deal

Quesnel, B.C. – The final numbers are in for the West Fraser Cariboo Pulp mill contract ratification vote.
Members voted 76.6% in favour of the new deal with 131 voting to accept, and 40 voting against.
The package gives workers a lump sum payment of $3750 in each of the first two years of the package. Year three will see a 2% boost, followed by a 2.5% hike in 2015 and a further 3% increase in 2016.
Cariboo Pulp also negotiated a compressed work week, which will see its members work four 9 hour shifts, an 8 hour shift on Friday, then the next week, 4×9 hour shifts and Friday off.
