Cariboo Cougars Face Vancouver

Prince George, B.C. — The Cariboo Cougars are about to test their 6-0 record in a big way facing their arch-rival Vancouver NW Giants.
It’s the first meeting between the two since the Giants beat the Cats for the third straight time in the league final back in March.
Both teams are undefeated to start the 2012-13 campaign. The Cats are coming off a weekend home sweep of the Vancouver NE Chiefs while the Giants are rested after a bye weekend. The Giants have allowed a league low six goals against in four games played while the Cougars boast one of MML’s most potent offences with 29 goals. The Cats also have three players in the top ten in league scoring in Braiden Epp (5G, 6A), Liam Blackburn (4G, 7A), and Brad Morrison (4G, 6A).
Discipline will be a key factor to victory for either squad. The Giants have taken only 54 PIMs compared to the Cougars 160.
In addition to winning their third straight championship over the Cats last season, the Giants won the regular season series 3-1. The two faceoff this morning at 11:45 and again tomorrow morning at 9:00am, both at the Langley Events Centre.
