Rewards Offered in Nazko Fire Investigation

Quesnel, B.C. – A private timber company and a First Nation are putting up reward money in hopes of finding those responsible for a major fire last spring.
 
Shortly after 10pm on Tuesday, May 8th, 2012, Quesnel RCMP were called to the scene of a fire burning on Baezaeko Road near Nazko.  They found a log storage area containing approximately 4000 cubic meters of wood and a piece of heavy equipment fully engulfed in flames.  The fire is estimated to have caused close to one million dollars in property damage to logs and equipment and has been deemed suspicious.
Nazko First Nation and West Fraser are each offering a PRIVATE cash reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the fire. However, anyone seeking this private reward who provide information should be aware that they will NOT remain anonymous, and may be required to testify in Court. Anyone wishing to provide information about this fire in connection with the private rewards is asked to contact the Quesnel RCMP directly at 250-992-9211.
 
Anyone with any information regarding this fire who wishes to remain anonymous can call Crimestoppers at  1-800-222-TIPS (8477).   Crimestoppers pays up to $2000 in cash rewards for information leading to an arrest and charge.

Its part of standing up to bullies and being counted as an upright citizen.
