Suspect Sent Back to Alberta

Friday, October 12, 2012 @ 3:51 PM
Prince George, B.C.-The RCMP in Prince George booked a “con-air” flight for an Alberta man wanted on outstanding warrants from Lacombe Alberta.

On October 3,  Andrew Alexander McLean, aged 29 was arrested by Prince George RCMP on the outstanding warrants for break and enter, utter death threats, charges which stemmed from an incident that happened in 2008.

Through pro-active policing and cooperation between the BC Fugitive Return Program and the Prince George RCMP Detachment in cooperation with the Lacombe Alberta Police Service, Andrew McLean has been returned to Alberta to face prosecution on his outstanding charges. His return to Alberta to face prosecution was facilitated by the Alberta Sheriff Service.

The BC Fugitive Return Program is a program managed by the RCMP and a joint management team consisting of the Vancouver Police Department and the RCMP. This program is funded by the Civil Forfeiture Office within the BC Government.

Since September 2011, the BC Provincial Fugitive Return Program has facilitated the return of 26 individuals from various regions in BC wanted by other Provinces across Canada. The Program was created to hold individuals currently residing in British Columbia who have out of Province arrest warrants accountable for their actions. It is hoped that facilitating the return of these individuals to deal with their outstanding matters will bring some measure of resolution to their victims.

Excellent program! Civil Forfeiture seizes assets from criminals, which pays for the return of criminals to the jurisdictions they fled. Glad to see warrants for Alberta, Sask etc executed here and the fools returned.
Used to be, you had a warrant on you from Alberta or any other province, they were reluctant to extend the warrant to other provinces due to the cost of returning them.
Not anymore, they basically pay their own way back off the backs of their brother cons.

Nice!

Not everyone who loses assets and houses to the Civil Forfeiture Office is a con or a criminal. Some aren’t even charged, some have charges stayed, others are found not guilty.

The Civil Forfeiture Office has become an industry in itself. The more they seize, the more lawyers they hire. They are self-serving.
