Prince George, B.C.- Prince George icon, Mr. P.G. is back!
After undergoing $9100 in restorative work, he was put in place this morning at his new location next to the P.G. Playhouse at the corner of Highways 16 and 97.
Here are a couple of photos of the work to put him back in place.

some final adjustments are made before releasing the ropes.

great to have him back
Welcome back buddy. We missed you. Looks like you’ve had a little work done? Botox ?
Is it me or is his nose bigger???
Wait…I know,pictures add 10 lbs right???
Mr Woody is back. Ok, the original one was made out of wood.
Is the time capsule we opened early going back in as well?
Yeah, but he’s still not anatomically correct…
Funny true story, when I sat a new work desk recently it had a number of small stickers on it. There were some from places in Yukon and NWT and then a couple others. When I looked at the others there were the words “Prince George” in small letters, but greeting me on the face was the head of good ole Mr. PG. It brought a bit of a smile to my face.
I would think that if anything reminds PG residents of the city, it would be Mr. PG. The cutbanks are nice, but you can see similar geography elsewhere. There’s only one Mr. PG!
I was trying to Google a photo of the Naked Lady Statue in Ucluelet BC that`s anatomically correct…but I think they are slightly more artsy fartsy than PG.
How do you make a woody that size anatomically correct though huh???

Well of course his nose is bigger/longer he has friends in high places…LOL
His nose is like Pinnochio’s. Every time the City gives us a BS story as to why he was moved, and the tourist centre trashed, his nose gets bigger.
Right on Palopu!
metalman.
Bang on Palopu, thanks for the laugh.
Good to see the wood man back.
We do love our town, are fond of our mascot, just a low bullsh*t tolerance….
Drove by from the west heading to town today and did not notice him. Drove by tonight from town heading west and did not notice him. Maybe some lights at night would be nice.
Pal you are so funny.
Cheers
Great that Mr. PG has been refurbished… but moving the Visitor information centre from a location where 2 major highways intersect down to 1st ave will end up to be a HUGE mistake. If the information centre is now housed inside the Via Rail building (as it seems) then I hope it would still be easy to locate.
I’m sure many visitors to PG know that once they see Mr. PG they will know that the information centre is “right there”. Not anymore!
Hope this does not create tons of confusion… but I have my doubts.
A little directional map at the base of him would be nice, to direct visitors to the new loacation of the Information Centre.
