Prince George, B.C.-  Northern Health   has activated its  Emergency Operations Centre in Prince Rupert in  the wake of a  7.7 earthquake, and  feared tsunami.

 

The quake hit  just after 8 this eveing, and couldb e felt  as  far east as Edmonton.

 

Stever Raper,   Communications Director  for Northern Health says  Northern Health has not had any reports of  anyone being injured,  and  that  he has been advised  Masset , on Haida Gwaii, is being evacuated   as residents are being moved to higher  ground.  "That means we will have to  evacuate the facility we have there.  There are five patients in that facility."
