Kelowna Police Look For Help To Solve Shooting Death

Kelowna – RCMP are seeking your help in trying to solve a shooting death that occurred in Kelowna three years ago. Christopher Daniel Hetu had re located to Kelowna from Prince George shortly before his death on October 27th -2009.
On that date, the Kelowna RCMP received a report of a man down in Mill Bridge Park. A 20 year old man was rushed to hospital with apparent gunshot wounds where he was pronounced deceased. The man was identified as Christopher Daniel Hetu, who had recently relocated to Kelowna from Prince George.
An autopsy later confirmed that Christopher’s death was the result of injury inflicted by a firearm.
The investigation revealed that Christopher was observed entering Mill Bridge Park at about 1:00 am on a BMX bike via the Gordon Drive Entrance (Across from Brookside Avenue). Sometime between 1:10 am and 1:15 am, witnesses heard from 3 to 5 gun shots coming from the area of the park, where Christopher’s body was located.
Police believe that there are individuals in Kelowna and Prince George that have information about this murder and ask that they come forward to assist in identifying the person or persons responsible for Christopher’s death.
