Prince George, BC – RCMP will be maintaining high visibility tonight and, no, that does not mean they’ll be decked out in glowing costumes…

Media Relations Officer, Corporal Craig Douglass, says, "Halloween is traditionally one of the busiest nights of the year for our Operational Communications Centre – receiving up to three times the normal call volumes."

Douglass is encouraging persons needing to make a report to RCMP to do so as quickly as possible.  He says, "Timely reports are more likely to have successful investigations."

The corporal says officers will be out in force, particularly during trick-or-treating hours to ensure public safety.  "Officers will have a zero tolerance approach to alcohol-fueled situations that jeopardize personal safety, property, or public peace."
