Prince George, BC – Highway 5 is closed this hour for a vehicle recovery effort near Valemount…
This is the third time in just over 12-hours that routes to the east of Prince George have been closed by vehicles going off the road. Highway 16 was closed twice last night, east of the junction with Highway 5 near Mount Robson Provincial Park, for similar efforts.
This morning’s incident occurred approximately 49-kilometres south of Tete Jaune Cache.
There are no reports of injuries in the trio of incidents, although officers remain at the scene of this morning’s closure. The RCMP detachment in Valemount says roads in the area are slippery.
Highway 5 is expected to re-open at 11:30am. For updates, go to www.drivebc.ca

Please put some good winter tires on you’re vehicle and drive for the road conditions. My biggest fear is being snuffed by someone that is not prepared for the winter driving conditions. Our two vehicles, AWD & Nokian studded tires all round.
How are the road conditions? YRB wasn’t spreading any sand out our way.
