Central Interior Weather In October Different
Thursday, November 1, 2012 @ 10:58 AM
Prince George- Environment Canada says you would have to call October the 3 part month, a continuation of the mild weather from September into the half of the month, then Fall arrived with near normal temperatures for the 3rd week, then winter arrived during the last few days of the month. The arrival of winter was on the brutal side with temperatures plunging into the minus 20’s on the 30th, not a record but pretty close. Just to add to the shock, close to 30 cm of snow accompanied the colder air between the 27th and 30th.
The precipitation for the month seems to fall in bunches; the first 2 days of the month were on the damp side, then a dry period that came to a soggy end on the 12th with a record 16.4 mm of rain for the day. The unsettled conditions persisted for a week, then dry once again. This came to another abrupt end with the big snow event to round out the month.
Into the record books, October 2012 will show a cool and wet month.
