Prince George, B.C.- It is becoming a tradition in Prince George, a special Military Church Parade and Veterans Memorial service takes place in the Veterans section of the Prince George Cemetery on the Sunday before Remembrance Day.
“It is a time to honour those who served and who lost their lives, and those who have returned” says Reverend Susan Scott, the Padre for the Rocky Mountain Rangers and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch in Prince George.
Piper Sheldon Clare played “The Maple Leaf Forever” as he lead the parade of members of the Legion, RCMP, Cadets and Rocky Mountain Rangers through a hallway of hero flags. Each of the 158 flags bearing the name of a Canadian who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in Afghanistan.
Through a blessing of each group, the laying of wreaths and prayer, the service came to a close with members of the Cadets paying graveside respect to the veterans who have been laid to rest in this section of the Cemetery.

This was a beautiful service. A huge effort by all who marched. The 158 Canadian flags were outstanding. Perhaps next year more people will attend. It happens every year the Sunday before Remembrance Day. Usually around 10ish.
Yes this is realy nice. Wonder what happend to those that died in world war I and II and the Korean war. Remember “lest we forget”
Cheers
Retired 02, give it a break! Oh, and see you next week end.
Cheers to you too.
So Runner46, which overseas military action did you serve in? What possible personal justification would you have that could match Retired 02’s past experience and committment to this country through military service in action?
I am sorry that I missed the service as I was unaware of it . Ubique
