Prince George, B.C.- The Coast Inn of the North was a sea of serge today as the RCMP handed out a variety of medals and awards.
 
Several officers were presented with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, including Chief Superintendent Rod Booth,  Inspectors Eric Brewer and Chris Bomford, and Corporal Craig Douglass who is  best  known in this community as the  P.G. Detachment’s media Liaison  officer.
 
RCMP Deputy Commissioner Craig Callens came to Prince George to make the presentations.
 
The event was split into two sessions, with several officers receiving long service awards. The long service awards included the awarding of a 35 year gold clasp and Commissioner’s Certificate to Constables Peter Berndsen and Michael Thom, and Corporal Raymond Kinloch.

You can get a medal for what Douglass does ?? That media liaison job must be very dangerous and difficult work! Kind of a hollow victory for real policemen !
