Is this not similar to the fatality a couple weeks ago on Central & 15th?
What is it with walking INTO a semi truck? Especially into the BACK of the truck.
That means the truck has already passed you (almost) and then you walk into it?
If that is indeed the case, the driver may not even know his involvement in the incident.

I highly doubt the driver would know this happened, dark, wet, snowing at the time, visibility BEHIND you is VERY poor.

Like who cares. As has been noted, the driver of the logging truck would not know about someone walking into the back of the truck. Its a case of walker beware and don’t drink and walk into the back of a truck!!!!

A typical person walking without taking notice of traffick around!!!

Really people, you don’t think these people have trouble with substances. Try to have some empathy for your fellow man. Remember that they have families and friends.

The point is not a lack of empathy, but the lack of reason in trying to track down a truck driver who, in most probability, is totally blameless and has no idea what happened.

pizzacook – you are right. If this was as being reported and witnessed by the driver behind who saw this and called it in, what is the purpose of trying to track down the truck driver?

Oh, right. Maybe they can fine him for something.

Awhile ago there was a logging truck accident out by Nukko Lake. Everyone, including the cops jumped on the driver for speeding, undue care, etc.

Guess what? That company has GPS units installed in their trucks and he was UNDER the speed limit.

Yeah, I think we ought to be considering the feelings of this kid’s family and friends. It’s a safe bet that the manner of his death is immaterial to those grieving his passing.
But I agree that it seems pointless to seek out the driver, unless the authorities want to try and nail him/her with something.

Am I missing something here Metalman? Who said this guy died?

Ya ok .. how about the family take tem off the street.

The victom here is the truck driver..

why do we assume hes drunk. Probably just impatient, probably saw a truck with no load and skipped across not realizing he was pulling an empty trailer behind.

Dammit I just read the first article, “believed to be intoxicated”. So much for giving the benefit of the doubt.

19 year old, 4 in the morning maybe he was walking to work!

Last i heard a 19 year old is an adult not a youth.

Thank you, yes an adult. It is terrible that an accident happened, but i have seen a lot of people in pg that possess a lot of bad manners / habits while walking close to traffic. Texting, walking against the little hand flashing while on a crosswalk etc. I also think by reading the article that maybe the trucker did nothing wrong!

Bad things happen to good people, sh*t happens and sometimes the price paid for a stupid mistake to too high. Hope the young man is going to be OK.

Thanks for catching that. I think I got this story mixed up with the fatal accident just out of Fort Fraser.
19 yrs. old may make one an adult in the eyes of the law, but I think of someone in that age group as a kid, does that make me a scofflaw?:)
