CNC and CUPE Into Contract Talks

Prince George, B.C.- The College of New Caledonia is into collective bargaining talks with CUPE Local 4951, and the latest request put on the table by the union has been rejected.
CNC Director of Communications and Development, Randall Heidt, says the union now has plans to take a strike vote. That vote is set for next week, but Heidt remains optimistic “We are hopeful that negotiations will lead to an agreement.”
There are about 350 members of CUPE Local 4951 at CNC. They represent operational staff including administrative assistants, cafeteria employees, custodians and book store employees.
