Terrace, B.C. – Terrace Mounties arrested a trio of teens in connection with a rash of vehicle break-ins early Tuesday morning.
RCMP were called out around 2:30 a.m. after a vehicle owner confronted three people trying to gain access to his truck. Two managed to escape, but the truck owner grabbed the third suspect by his jacket. Investigators say the youth attempted to assault the owner with a knife, but was knocked to the ground and held until police arrived.
Footprints in the snow took police to the other two teens hiding in a heavily wooded area where they were arrested without incident. Police are also looking for other victims.
“If your vehicle was in the area of Hamer, Soucie, or Olson Avenues, and victim of a break and enter and or theft, report this to the Terrace RCMP immediately. Footprints from the thieves were observed in these areas leading up to numerous vehicles. We are also looking for backpacks that were possibly tossed by the thieves in the area of McConnell Avenue and Sparks Street”, says Cpl. Mark Alexander.
All three of the 14 year old boys are facing charges in connection with the break-ins. One of the teens is also up against charges in connection with the attempted assault of the truck owner. RCMP say they have had 43 interactions with the youth and have requested he be held in custody.

Their parents must be so proud.
